We had the good fortune of connecting with LaKisha Mosley Mosley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaKisha Mosley, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business helps women stay in leadership without losing themselves to it. High-achieving women are usually taught to push through, perform, and put everyone else’s needs first. I built The Soft Simple CEO™ to give them another option: a way to lead, build, and grow that doesn’t require self-abandonment.

That shows up in a few different ways. Through My Mind is My Business™, I create space for women to talk openly about mental health and business in the same breath, instead of treating them as separate conversations. Through Khaos and Konvos, I bring real, unfiltered dialogue to an audience that’s tired of the polished, hustle-culture version of success. And through my work coaching small business owners, including a 10-month curriculum I built and delivered locally, I help entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses instead of burning out chasing growth for growth’s sake.

The throughline is community. Women supporting women, especially in spaces where ambition and softness aren’t usually allowed to coexist. I want the women I work with to leave feeling less alone in what they’re carrying, and better equipped to carry it without breaking.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The LM Experience is my event planning and talent management company. I’ve been doing this thirteen years now. The Soft Simple CEO is the leadership framework I built after I hit a wall.

What sets me apart is that I don’t separate the two. Everything I do in event production and talent management is run on the same principle I teach in Soft Simple CEO: nothing works in business when your mental health is out of alignment. I learned that the hard way. Thirteen years of building LME, and in November of 2025 I burned out. Not the kind of tired a vacation fixes. The kind where you realize you’ve been performing success while quietly falling apart.

That experience is the whole reason Soft Simple CEO exists. It’s not a self-care brand and it’s not a mindset framework. It’s built on one belief: success should not require self-sacrifice. Softness is a leadership skill, not a weakness. I teach high-achieving women how to lead from regulation instead of urgency, because I had to learn that myself while still running a company.

Was it easy? No. Running LME for over a decade taught me how to build something real. It didn’t teach me how to protect myself while I built it. That’s the piece I had to go figure out on my own, in real time, while still showing up for clients and events. The lesson I keep coming back to is that calm execution beats pushing harder every time. Fewer priorities, clearer rhythms, steady progress. That’s not a slogan for me. That’s how I rebuilt my own operating system after burnout forced me to.

What I’m most proud of right now is watching both sides of my work grow at the same time. LME’s talent management division is officially live, and Soft Simple CEO keeps proving that the women I built it for, the ones who look like they have it together and are running on empty, are everywhere. They just needed someone to say it out loud first.

What I want people to know is this: you don’t have to choose between ambition and your well-being. I spent thirteen years thinking you did. I was wrong. You can build something real and still protect yourself while you do it. That’s the whole story, in business and in life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to First Watch for breakfast. Then a little shopping in the Rice Village area and maybe move to the Memorial City area. Lunch at Haywire. Happy Hour at Winsome Prime. Dinner at Haii Keii.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to start with my kids. They are the reason I do any of this the way I do it. Watching them made me want to build a version of success that doesn’t require me to disappear in the process, and that’s really the whole heart of The Soft Simple CEO™.

WBEA (Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance) has been a real anchor for me too. Being a certified WBE gives me access to many opportunities that benefit my business being woman-owned.

And then my friends. The ones who’ve stayed close through the late nights, the pivots, the moments where I doubted myself. Success can be lonely if you let it, and I haven’t had to carry it alone because of them.
