Meet Taylor Pointer: Ministry through Makeup

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Pointer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For me the key to my success is knowing that it’s obtainable only through myself, because it should be measured based on your own vision. It’s not just about making money, or having fame. Success for me is accomplishing the vision given to me by God. So for me the most important factor behind my success is knowing that I define it, and no one else. If I am fulfilled with the achievements of Makeup by Ur Majesty, then I am Successful!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is my being. I know that sounds like huh?! Lol but I live my life in art. From my makeup, to my clothes, my words I speak to others, my love is art. Art is an ability to take something and create from it. I create art from whatever I do because I do it all from love. My makeup looks come from what I see spiritually, what I am feeling, and what I want to release out into the world. I want people to be inspired when they see my art knowing that they have giftings on the inside of them as well. Nothing is ever easy I didn’t start where I am,and I’m far from done, but as many times as I gave up I went right back to it, because I simply am not fulfilled when I am not using my gift. Me and my husband have a saying when we are trying to accomplish a long term goal and it’s a bit cliche but we get a new revelation everything we remind each other. One person say “KEEP” and the other person no matter how tired or discouraged says “GOING!” and we don’t just say it, we receive it. So, if I could give any piece of advice to anyone who is out there about to give up because they’re tired of trying…dont!!! Keep going! Eventually you will get to exactly where God would have you to be. If you know nothing else about M.B.U.M. know that this brand represents so many things, #1 giving God glory, and also about inspiring you to be the BEST YOU… not the you that you’ve become to cover up the blemishes, and scars… No. Rippibgnoff the expectations of who others say you should be,, and taking all the blemishes, the marks , the scars, and show your OWNSELF that you can overcome everything that came to stop you!!! because we came into this world being more than conquerors…don’t let anything or anyone discourage you from doing what you know in your spirit, mind, and soul that you are supposed to be doing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow, well I love hosting! So if you best friend came to visit. We would go eat Mexican lol my favorite!!!! I would take them to my hidden spot Mama Juanita! I would take to the museum district, I love museums so inspiring!!! I love any experience that helps you enjoy the moment so often we are thinking so ahead of where we are that we forget to enjoy the moment. When I’m out with my family oh my gosh we have so much fun I do everything my kids do, me and my husband are big kids we sometimes are out running them. However, we are always on groupon or Google looking for tons of things to do, whatever it is we make it fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first shout out is to the one I could never accomplish anything without… God! God has made all the things in my life possible, I do nothing without inquiring Him first…He never fails, or leaves me! So I am always guaranteed victory, and I am never alone. Next is my biggest support system that pushed me to where I am today…My best friend, my prayer partner, my greatest encourager, my reality check when I need it, my soul mate, my Husband Tharon Pointer II. My beautiful kids that keep me going, the way they make me feel like superwoman, how they make me feel like everything I do is so amazing. TK and Heaven thank you for praying for mommy every day you are mommy’s world I thank you for always making me feel successful at the end of each and every day, mommy loves you,  you are my world. My parents are unbelievable and I am so blessed that I am their daughter I love you, you have made so much possible for me. My husband’s parents that are more like my own the way they cover me in prayer and support me is the greatest blessing I could have in my marriage they are my real family. My brother, and sisters, I can’t name every one because so many play a role in where I am today, whether big or small my friends my aunts, uncles, FFCC family. My Lord, My Apostle Elaine Benson of First Fruits Christian Center, I cannot even begin to start on how big of a role she has played in my life thank you is an understatement! I love you Apostle beyond words! The things you have walked me through leaves me speechless… but I know you know how grateful I am.This one name I am choosing to mention bc no one really knows what she does for me behind the scenes… we call each other “blood sis” which is something only we understand she’s not only my warrior sister… she’s my business manager and the lengths she goes is beyond what I can ask, Caroline Dixon you know how deep it goes…Thank you, thank you, thank you Blood sis! My friends you know who you are…And to my clients, my supporters MY ROYALZ you are a major role in the Makeup by Ur Majesty brand…thank you doesn’t cover what you guys do for me just know it is beyond appreciated! I believe thank you’s are the hardest part because I am grateful for small things, anything that someone else does for me I’m grateful, because they chose to when they don’t have too. I wish I could call every name but it’s simply just not enough space lol…but to anyone who has done anything for me personally  or professionally (and that’s alot) THANK YOU!
