We had the good fortune of connecting with Xavier Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Xavier, what is the most important factor behind your success?
While there is still much to accomplish, the biggest thing that got me really going in the country music space, and has led to my successes thus far, was reframing my headspace and my approach. After the slow down affect 2020 had on my career, I knew 2021 had to be something epic. So starting with the first day of 2021 I approached everything related to country music with intent and a “won’t take no for an answer”/ “I will find a way” attitude. With this approach things quickly began to work out and success has been coming faster than I can almost keep up. At the end of the day to become a success in anything is not all about talent. It truly comes down to who is willing to go above and beyond, and not make excuses. Reframe your mind and you’ll be amazed at what follows.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My story to country music is very unique. I began my career as a professional competitive dancer (tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop) at the age of 13. At a convention on of the instructors told us that “as dancers we just need to get used to being in the back. We’ll always be backup to the main singer or performer)”. That didn’t sit right with me so at the ago of 16 I began singing and acting. I began vocal training with musical theatre and opera instruction (So my voice at this point was a high tenor and had NO country components to it). At the age of 17 I joined a country Western swing group called, the Lil’ Wrangers. This group introduced me to the world of country music, as every few months we were dancing to a new country tune. After going on a trip to see Brad Paisley at the Houston Livestock show and rodeo, I was hooked. From the age of about 20-23 I really worked to transform my voice to a more country style and hone in on what my overall sound and style as a country artist would be. I released 4 singles over the course of 4 years, with my newest single “Worst Best Way” releasing on February 11th, 2021. This new single has been a massive success and is taking Texas by storm once station at a time. This song has already landed itself on numerous Texas Country Charts and playlists! Nothing about my story has come easy, but that’s not the point. We all have different stories. The most important thing is that you find what your dream is, lock in on it, make plan, and go. You don’t have to track out everything, you just need to know your ultimate goal and do what needs to be done to get there. There’s no magic or secret, just hard work and dedication.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely visit the space center, natural history museum, and the zoo! Those are some nice fun hangouts. for awesome food I would suggest Brenner’s on the Bayou! This is a super unique restaurant. Also, my favorite spot for shopping would be Highland Village. Tons of great shops and an awesome atmosphere. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family (Wife, parents, sister, brother in law) are the most supportive people I know and without them I would not have the strength to do what I do. You’re success is directly related to the people you surround yourself with and these people push me to be better and encourage me to see in myself what I don’t always see.
