We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Harrington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robert, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
In 1999 I found myself working for a great company and I sincerely thought I would spend the rest of my career with them. The pay was amazing and the benefits were outstanding. I could set my own schedule and had plenty of personal time to pursue passions and hobbies. One passion was my high school sweetheart Virginia, and the hobby we both shared was videography. After we married in 2001, we created our first music video starring our new puppy. This project led to many more and before we knew it, we both went full time with our company Harrington Productions. In the beginning, we took huge pay cuts but it didn’t matter. We were happy and loved what we were doing. A few years later we welcomed our first daughter Isabella into our family and today we are Bella.Media. As Bella.Media has grown, we have brought in some talented creatives like Josh Thornton, who has been at Bella.Media for over 10 years now. We pursued this passion because we loved it and found it very rewarding.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When a potential client reaches out to us, it’s important that we connect with them. We must make sure we are a good fit for one another before engaging in creating stories for them. We must connect with the person in order to connect with their company. Communication is the most important part of every relationship. A lack of communication is where relationships begin to fail. We want to make sure communication is strong and healthy every step of the way. Our goal has always been to exceed expectations. Bella.Media is not seeking a ton of clients looking to create one or two spots. We are looking for clients we can partner with for the long haul and create powerful, meaningful content for the present and the future. We are proud of the fact that most of our clients have been with us for over 8 years.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A large portion of our business is Economic Development for counties and cities. Bella.Media has created media spots for Greater Houston, Galveston County, Fort Bend County, Williamson County, Waller County, the city of Brenham, Richmond, Leander, Pearland, Old Town Spring and so many more. We are honored to produce business spotlight films in all of these places. If we made a list of our favorite spots, it would go on for pages! Please contact us for recommendations if you need a great spot to go to in any of these areas.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would not be where we are today without our faith in Christ, family, and friends. Being a small business owner is tough. There is no calling in sick when you’re just starting out. I remember having to tap into savings during the hard times. Never once did we miss a meal or miss payroll. God always provided. Most of our clients have become our friends. Our friends have told their friends about our services. 100% of our business today is referral-based. We don’t have a fancy website & we don’t update our social media properly. We are blessed by amazing clients who have become ‘Raving Fans.’ (Look up that book, great read!)
