We had the good fortune of connecting with Pekaditos Team and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pekaditos, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The most important habit that we think helped us succeed would be consistency. Even if we only had 3 sales one day we will still show up the next day with high hopes and determination. Another habit will be that we are always being innovative, thinking of long term ideas and trying to come up with new creations as a team.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Adriana – I currently work full-time as a Benefits Coordinator for a restaurant management company in The Woodlands TX: where I’ve been working 5* years. We currently manage 13 restaurants with locations in Houston and Dallas/Ft Worth. Initially interacting with others and communication were not my strong suit. With a little guidance and practice throughout the years, this has definitely improved. Although my office job has helped me grow as a person it doesn’t let my colorful and creative spirit boom. This is where Pekaditos came into play! We, all three sisters, have a fun and bubbly personality and are not afraid of hard work; this is the foundation of our small business. We let our creative minds flow and express the importance of gratitude through our customer service. Gabriela – I graduated from University of Houston 2018 and moved to Austin for about a year and a half. I was so homesick and have always been family oriented so it was a difficult adjustment for me. Thankfully I have a supportive family that was there helping me move to Austin and then back to Houston. I have a degree in Finance and currently work in the mortgage industry as a Loan Closer. Anyone who works in mortgage understands the crazy hours and its been hard trying to balance my career and our small business. My family has been super supportive through it all and we always step in to help each other when needed. If I had to tell the world something it would be to know what you want and vision your future. When you have those hard nights think of that life, that goal, that vision and it will help you keep going. That is my motivation and what keeps me going every day! Claudia – What sets us apart from others is the one of a kind experience that our customers get. Not only do we sell over 13 flavors of aguas frescas and over 6 different flavors of chamoy, we hand paint every single one of our cantaritos; in where we serve our drinks. The most exciting thing is that we have people from all over the United States that come this far to taste our products and share their experience. Prior to Pekaditos I worked at a restaurant for about 3 years, which helped improve my hospitality skills. Making our customers feel welcomed and paying attention to little details to bring them the one of a kind experience that they came for. Running a business is definitely not easy, from sleepless nights to mental breakdowns. It’s like riding a nonstop roller coaster, but it’s so worth it at the end. A very big lesson I’ve learned along the way of running a business is to always have a “growth mindset” persist in the way of setbacks, learn from criticism and embrace challenges. I believe in only serving the freshest products.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live for this question!! We love exploring new food and places. Our common places to go eat would be Grimaldis, Mico’s Hot Chicken, Big George Birria Tacos, and lastly Crawfish Shack. In our opinion these are some of the best stops for awesome food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The most important person in our life that has determined who we are as people now and who we will become in the future is our mother. She has always been the one staying up late and waking up early to make our dreams happen. She has shown us how to be independent hard working woman who are not afraid of taking a leap of faith towards their dreams. We are forever grateful for the mother we have been blessed with and hope to become like her.
