We had the good fortune of connecting with Shyneice Gaddis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shyneice, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was how? How do I do this and become successful at it? I always knew it was something I wanted to do, so I started to formulate a plain on how to get started. I researched I toke notes and along with that I watched other women in the market that was already successful at it. I created a list of everything I needed to get started and started to check things off my list as I completed them. until I reached the website stand point and was ready to launch. After that came with more things I needed to learn about business. which my thought process on that is still learning more about business. now that its out there my next question to my self was, ok how do I make it successful and really get it out there and be consistent with it? but when I really think about my business I think about success and helping my family its the whole foundation to really starting and why I started. My son will be in college soon and starting a business was something I wanted him to be encouraged to do as well. most of all I wanted to lead by example in his eyes that you can do what you put your mind too. Most important I knew why I was starting this business and what it stood on. And realizing how important it is to really get it out there. it’s not easy it’s very challenging and you get discouraged a lot but for me it’s the passion behind loving to dress and looking nice. so it makes me not want to give up on something I know will take off sooner or later. no business is successful overnight and that’s something I had to keep in mind when I started my business. it’s a lot of figuring things out when it comes to starting a business. the more you figure out the more chances you have of your business finally cracking open and taking off.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There Is a few people in my life that pushed me to start my business when all I did was talk about it and was going through a number of struggles. but they believed I could do it when at the time I didn’t believe I could do it. so thank you to Candice Simpson my best friend who has been one of my biggest supporters and always pushing me and making me believe I could truly start a business. and of course thank you to Jamaal, Rhonda, just for them conversation about business and also pushing me to start when I had nothing to lose but everything to gain after I got to Florida.
