We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscilla Gandara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscilla, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
PG Cheesecake started as a hobby to cater to my family. I wanted to be able to provide for my family by doing something that I love. I am very thankful of how far my business has taken off, and the success it has had.

What should our readers know about your business?
PG Cheesecake has been able to cater to artist in the music industry like Baby Bash, Slim Thug, Lil Flip, and Heavyweightmusik. I am very thankful for the support that I have been given, and can’t wait to keep connecting with other artists. It was not easy to start my own business, but it has definitely been rewarding. I would like to say that I haven’t faced any challenges, but sadly who hasn’t? I try to take on challenges and learn from them to become the best that I can be. I would like PG Cheesecake to be known for it’s authentic taste and originality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Houston I would love to take them site seeing to see all that Houston has to offer. I would definitely take them to the Heights area to see all the street art. Partake in bike riding through downtown to see the Houston skyline.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business would definitely not be where it is today if I didn’t have the support of my husband. I would also like to give a shoutout to Cash, Gabby, and Meliy for always helping me advertise PG Cheesecake. They encourage and motivate me when I need it the most. The support system that surrounds me has been the reason PG Cheesecake has thrived.
