We had the good fortune of connecting with Hunter Twins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hunter, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea to start up TWICE AS NICE SWEETS came from the twins always in the kitchen baking, mixing up desserts to create something creative for dinner almost every night starring ” food coloring.” The twins always love to be in the kitchen helping mom cook. As the years go by X’Ziyah the second born twin start selling cookies to her friends at school to make some extra earnings besides their normal allowance. It started with the twins grandma who is also a baker of the family made some teacakes told the twins to take them to school to the teachers and students to sell. needless to say she came home with a load of cash all neatly folded and the bills facing the same way. After telling the family that the cookies were sold she suggested for the younger crowd aka “her friends” that they should take the chocolate chip and sugar cookies, because kids do not like them older people teacake cookies in fact non of the kids really knew what they were at all, so all her sales came from her teachers. Then I knew I had a natural born entrepreneur. Quite naturally her twin sister X’Ziariyah caught on and wanted in on the business, X’Ziariyah stated that everyone comes up to her anyway looking for those delicious cookies that is going for 2/$1 thinking the twins are the same person. At the top of their game keep a GPA of over 3,5 and doing amazing jobs on academics, sports including Volleyball, Basketball, and Track in the 7th grade all of sudden the world wide pandemic begin. Left with no social contact and virtual learning. The girls missed school, sports, their friends, and overall their cookie business. After time goes on the girls would just bake and post on our personal page baking cookies since all the dessert shops and restaurants were closed we had time to get creative in the kitchen and create new recipes. Our Aunt Rita seen the cookies and asked could she place an order and could we also deliver them to her with a pint of ice cream and she would pay extra for that and a delivery fee for our services, That was the day we made it an official Sweets and Treats business. With the help of our mom we bake whatever you desire. We offer all kind of cookies flavors even for those who choose Gluten free, Keto, or sugar free cookies upon request, Come see us at one of local pop up shops here in HOUSTON. The amount of love and support is joyful. We look forward to continue serving the community and we will have a food truck coming soon!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Always having a creative side X’Ziariyah shows noting less than being an artsy crafty type of kid. I am into making bracelets, I love plant flowers, i also love to draw and paint. growing up most kids love toys but i wanted slime, and other things from Michaels and Hobby Lobby to create something of my own. i did not even ask my mom for money I just wanted to go buy paintbrushes, tools to make bracelets and resin to create other imaginable things that make me happy and feel like I’m contributing to the world by showing my creativity. while on the other hand my little sister by one minute X’Ziyah loves to create new looks with her hair and she can do just about any style and can braid hair as well. She been playing in my moms hair products since we were about five years old. she loved to go in my my moms hair products and pull her styling tools out and even went to extent to cut one of my moms mannequins hair into a style that maybe even hard for a professional to manage. My mom supports any dreams, endeavors and adventures we like to take, She invested in my sisters beginners nail tech desires and I must say my little sister is talented all the way around. its nothing we cant do if we put our twin minds together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When your in the city of Houston the greatest for a pre teen to hang out is at the malls like the galleria, Willow brook, Deerbrook, and maybe even The Woodlands mall if you are the northside. Topgolf would be another great spot to grab some food and hang out with all your friends in a section that we all put our money together to get. We also like to hang out at any one of the Show BIZ locations, We can grab ice cream, candy, popcorn, bowl, play arcade games, eat pizza, nachos and hotdogs all in one place. Since my teenager friends and In are all the same age we tend to share to make it more fun. If we are not there we get our parents to drop us off and pick us from Main Event, Dave and Busters, the local pool in the neighborhood, Go Kart track, Skateboard Park, or at the Skating Rink to meet up with friends. As young teenagers with no car or a license yet we still tend to have a great time with friends, These are all places that we can go to still be a kid and do not need an adult to supervise our fun times, We just contact our parents when the fun is over or carpool with friends. Football season is here and I think since we are in High School now we can attend the games for more things to do with our friends by catching all the home games.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to shoutout our mom who is back bone and most strongest supported. I do think this business could be ran without her. She works the logistics and the physical side of things. We are only 13 going on 14 and our mommy has to drive us around to deliver most of our cookie orders. Our mother Charisma Hunter is the strongest persons I have met in my life both mentally and physically . As our mom has her own separate businesses from Twice As Nice Sweets. Along with our cookie business my mom is a also a Houston hair stylist, and she has a food business that we are also an extent from A LIL THIS A LIL THAT. They handle the food delivery and catering service and we add in the sweets which can vary from cakes, to pies, and our famous banana pudding. with our mother aunts and grandma her to support and pour into their money time and efforts we truly are grateful to have such a talented and skillful blood line that has passed down those blessings to keep continued success within our family, We are the last of the Hunter bloodline. thank you mom for allowing us, giving us the skills, engraving the knowledge to be a successful business from the city of Houston so that we can carry the family name on. People will forever know us as the identical twins that sells cookies, because everywhere we go people ask, “You do not have any cookies on you for sell?”
