We had the good fortune of connecting with Diamond Capreé and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diamond, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
For me the biggest risk I’ve took thus far was moving to Houston. I’m a girl from a small town. I took this leap of faith for me, for my happiness but most of all my dream to become an artist. It’s been a stern struggle and a complex battle. But I’m living, I’m surviving and I’m dreaming. This risk put my back against the wall. Impelled me to get aggressive about my goals and where I want to be in 5 or 10 years. It’s a journey still traveled. It’s a journey less traveled.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a singer/songwriter who loves the art of storytelling. I thrive in great writing and the ability to capture a feeling outter body. I write every song, every emotion is within. I’ve spent hours and days sitting in front of my computer honing my craft, sharpening my skills become better. I still have a long way to go but I’m closer than ever before. It’s definitely been a challenging ride nonetheless. But I’m here for a challenge maybe it’s the competitive nature in me. I always feel like I have to defend what’s mine. I’m still processing this feat. Learning is a never ending journal. I want everyone to know I’m coming not because I got lucky not because I’m feel I’m better than anyone but because I worked for it, my music speaks value. The cream always rises to the top. Take a listen

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I haven’t been too many places in Houston for party fun because I’ve been so focus on my goal but my first that will probably be going to is Benihana’s. I love food! It’s a love language for me. I will probably visit Pearl bar. But I’m not really much of a going out person. I love intimate conversations! Someone’s energy and presents is felt immediately when I meet them. I’m an observer. I watch and catch vibes then proceed to indulge.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I usually don’t talk about her much. She has played a pivotal position in why I’m moved to Texas why I’m pushing so hard to become an artist. She believed in me when others shunned me. When others uncertainty played a factor in my prolonging for my career. I owe this to her. A shot, one last chance to go for it and never look back. I’m sharing this journey to success with her. To Moriah Roberts, God sent you for me. Thank you.
