We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaylee Mcgilbery and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaylee, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My life is all about taking risks. Almost all of my huge decisions in life are based off of signs or that gut feeling. Life is meant for going for the jump without knowing what’s at the bottom. Sometimes we are victors and other times we aren’t. But we have to put ourselves in that position because if we don’t then we aren’t really living life to the fullest. Risks are in fact risky. There’s no doubt about that. But they can bring us the most rewarding things in our life.


Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of the best things that’s happened to me was starting my own Tattooing business. Strangely enough My business just turned a year old not too long ago. So lately this has all been very surreal! However as i’ve had some hardships to go through in the past. I can say at this point in my life I’m the best i’ve ever been. Strictly because Im finally doing things for myself and watching this past year go by, seeing all the support and love grow to what it’s become now is incredible. My mission when I started Sabotagedsiren was to be relatable to my clients. Treat them how I want to be treated. And most importantly show people that just bc you’re young and things didn’t work out once before doesn’t mean it’s over. No, you get up, learn from it, bust your ass and don’t take no for an answer. Be confident in your craft and hold your head high. Be the best. Always keep growing. And never look back.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I currently live in Austin, Tx! I absolutely fell in love with this city. There’s Tons of phenomenal things to do here! If someone were to visit I would definitely start at Vaquero Taquero. This is a must for anyone who’s craving some fresh flavor filled tacos! Then I would dive right into nature and take a day to go paddle boarding on the lake that runs through austin for some great times and tan lines! Then to end the night I would 10/10 recommend The Domain area in austin has just alittle bit of everything! Nightlife/Bars, amazing food and there’s even this ice cream shop that is my FAVORITE called Jenis Ice cream!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been gifted with SO many amazing humans that have consistently helped me through thick and thin over the years. First and foremost, I want to thank Alisha and Don Mcgilbery. These two are more then just parents to me. They are my life mentors, personal go to guides, my anchors, and people who love me unconditionally without even thinking twice (and not because they have to either haha.) They definitely deserve the most credit with my journey and life choices. They have been the best influences I could’ve ever asked for. Everything I do to this day is all because of them and their faith in not only me but my passions. I love them with every once of my being. Thank you both.
