We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Konieczny and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, what do you attribute your success to?
Being authentic to myself and my brand. My vibe is lifestyle, connection, sunlight, sunsets, and a little moody. I always get the Christmas card shots, but I spend a lot of time making sure I capture those authentic true self/true connection shots to cherish for years to come.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I was first able to really jump into photography during the beginning of the pandemic (aka lockdown). Previously, I had been traveling so much for my job that I hardly had any down time. During the beginning of COVID I had a lot of time to regroup, organize, and focus on my passion. I had time to practice, take online photography courses in the evenings, and start a legal business. Starting a new business is not easy; it was a lot of work in the beginning, but definitely worth it! I’ve learned I really am my own worst critic; but I do not see this as a negative as I always push myself to better my skills in shooting and editing. I’ve learned to never stay stagnant and always push yourself to become better each session and each month.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say some of the most fun times I’ve had in town have been at a Houston Astros game, the Kemah Boardwalk, or at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. If I were to take them to a dinner beforehand, it would be so hard to choose! My husband and I are major foodies and we are always down to try to a new spot. Recently, we have really been loving Portavino, Bludorn, and we are always down for a good wine bar.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My friends and family have given me so much encouragement and love during this journey. My very first shoot was with one of my cousins who agreed to pose for me. I would practice on my parents, my brother and his fiancé, my husband and of course- the pets!! If I wouldn’t have had them by my side for practice and for encouragement, there is no chance I would be where I am today. My friends are constantly recommending me to others that haven’t heard of me before, share my posts, and are always there to pump me up when I need the encouragement. I have so many people in my life that have contributed to the success of my business thus far, I can’t thank them enough.
