We had the good fortune of connecting with D’eva Fields and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi D’eva, how do you think about risk?
Risk-taking is very important without taking a risk you will live a life of regrets. Risk-taking isn’t just about taking a risk it’s about walking in faith. Faith in yourself your abilities and your brand. If you don’t have faith in what you’re trying to sell you’re doomed to fail. I take risk all the time I believe there’s no such thing as a loss. Life is full of blessings and lessons. Either this was a blessing or a lesson I can learn from either way I am growing as a person as a brand and as a business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hair is my Hustle is exactly what it is it’s been my hustle for the past 20 years. I have raise my children in a salon and hair has helped me to afford everything I need in life. Opening a salon was a dream of mine and I have done it three times this is my third time. I have learned to listen to my gut. I have learned that helping others is essential in business, your business should have a heart. I have also learned not to be afraid of change. If there’s one thing the pandemic has taught us is that life is fragile business can be temporary if you don’t know how to change and last but not least be willing to restructure and rebrand and rise from the ashes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am definitely a foodie so places like thirteen, tastebar and kitchen, grub park are spots that are a must for great food and atmosphere. Bar 2200, Phil and Dereks are among the places I would take them to party for older crowd, because we over 40 we don’t twerk. Houston is rich in culture and a melting pot of people that just make this city great. I came here a year ago to visit my first time fell in love with the city and decided to move.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am big on the law of attraction and manifesting things into your life. The book that has really helped me is called the game of life and how to play it by Florence Scovel Shin. I believe that we are capable of manifesting anything from a spoon to a multi million dollar business. You are as rich as you’re mind can perceive. If you believe it in your mind and heart it most definitely will show up in your life.
