We had the good fortune of connecting with Tomilona Ifelayo, MD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tomilona, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me, I’ve always seen success as the ability to not only move forward, but take those around me along. If I do well and those coming behind have no path to excellence, it is for nothing. This was the driving force behind the development of the The NotSoSmoothRoad!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Currently I am a resident physician training in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It’s been a pretty interesting journey, but I thank God for where it is headed. The big things I have learned on the way are: 1) Don’t lean on your understanding; trust the One who has all the answers, 2) Always ask questions; there’s nothing wrong with seeking help, and 3) When you’re following the plans God has for you, He will send the people and resources you need to make it happen!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All the credit and recognition goes to God. I always joke that my whole life has been cycles of me making detailed plans and God taking a completely different route, but it’s true! He is the only reason I am where I am now.
