We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Hilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
After having two strokes, I was caught in a cycle of pharmaceuticals and feeling hopeless. While looking for other options I was introduced to cannabis which I was very skeptical of. While visiting a state where medical marijuana was legal I tried it out of desperation. The effects were surprising, and overwhelmed all of my apprehension. I already worked as an oncology aesthetician, so Hemplication was a natural outgrowth of my personal and professional experiences. Now I have the opportunity to share what I’ve learned with others who feel caught in the same cycle and I hope to share with them another form of holistic healing.

What should our readers know about your business?
When your walk into my shop it’s more like and experience, even if you don’t purchase anything you leave there with something. You leave with laughter, a good memory, singing or sometimes dancing too. You see all of my decor and music playing is 80’s themed, my recycled art is basically using all things from the past like rotary phones, 8-tracks, cassette tapes, and records ( all broken and unplayable I am a collector) So the main thing is, my store triggers memories from a happier time in their lives when they were young. I guess I’m sharing some of my Music & Art Therapy with everyone who enters. I am very excited to see the shop grow and we will be adding infused baked foods to start with and offer group or private infusion parties where you can learn how to make infused items such as topicals and edibles. I will serve infused bites during the classes so it should be a lot of fun. I just got my certification to cook with Cannabis and learned so much from Chef Brandon Allen of The Trichome Institute.

I wouldn’t say this has all come easy by any means. In the beginning being the one of the very first CBD Med Spas here. I hit tons of resistance from clients , banks, and merchant accounts to run credit cards. Seriously…. I made it happen though and hustled I even covered all my windows on my car with vinyl wording ,like an ice cream truck ,about all things CBD helps with and my business info. It was embarrassing but it worked!!!!!!

Then COVID19 happened. I barely survived this pandemic but I had to make a move from where I was and landed in Old Town Spring. I also had an art studio in The Silos and had to end that lease due to Covid. I almost lost both businesses but managed to move all of my businesses into one spot.
I now am in a large historic house on prime corner spot on Main Street and Preston Ave.

My store is a Trifecta of greatness it is so much more than just a CBD store. It’s a CBD Med Spa, a Wellness boutique, and an art gallery. You can find all kinds of Hemp mercantile, sassy gifts, very unique art, and CBD infused products and edibles.

The lessons I’ve learned is you need to be able to allow and accept help from others. You will run yourself down and your business will ultimately suffer so as hard as it was for me I learned how to ask for help. Don’t be afraid to hustle and do embarrassing marketing things you have to do what works.

My shop is a reflection of my healing journey and in that I cross paths with many others suffering with life altering ailments and illnesses. I love to help others and I genuinely care. I just partnered with a company called BlankieGram and we have similar missions to help others and lift their spirits and know they are not alone. My series “Healing Wishes” started last month and I will surprise gift 25 people with a free Healing wishes blanket. The blankets are super soft and covered in inspirational words to help people stay positive. Most of mine have been gifted to Cancer & Stroke patients but I still have more to go. ( They do not wholesale but have an amazing program I was able to be a part of to do this)
If there is one thing I want people to know it would be that yeah I have taken over 72 courses in all things Cannabis and have way more certifications and licenses than I need , but only to be able to help others

seeking alternative holistic healing with Cannabis. I want to be able to answer all the questions I had in the beginning because truth be told I was one of those skeptical people who doubted it worked and also though it was drugs. Yes sir yes ma’am and look at me now all writing my congressman on the regular and getting involved because our voices do matter.

I am now a Legal Texas Medical Marijuana Card holder and did you know Texas Original has a prescription pick up spot and delivery in the Houston area , well they do!!!!!!
