We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmyn Mingo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmyn, what principle do you value most?
Quality is the most important thing to me. I feel as though my products should always be the best they need to be.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a teacher, I enjoy kids and students but I am ready for a change. I hold two degrees both are from HBCUs. I have learned to go with what you want and don’t settle because you feel like you have to. I have worked hard in school as well as in my everyday life to achieve where I want to be and continue to create new goals for myself. I love baking and creating its and outlet for me to be free. I don’t use any dairy products so all of my treats are dairy free and my cookies are vegan.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would talk them to eat because we all love love food. Most definitely some local spots. Best Street Tacos in Midtown is my go to taco truck. Lately I’ve been enjoy Food Halls downtown. It’s crawfish season so we would definitely have to go to Crawfish & Beignets I love the spicy Thai flavor. Find the vegan ice cream truck that Mr. Otis runs he has some of the best flavors. I would take them all around the city to eat and enjoy the areas that we are surrounded by taking in the different cultures.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say one of my closet friend, we call him Cashh ( DeAndré Sheppard) . He has helped me throughout this entire process. From creating the name Mingomadeit and to creating many of the names of the cookies. He’s my go to person and I am greatful to have him around.
