Meet Felica Thomas | Daughter of God and Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Felica Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Felica, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Oh wow! Being born and raised in Dallas Texas, I would have to say my background and upbringing has played an instrumental part in my life. Growing up without my mom who died when I was nine years old and with an absent dad in the flesh was difficult. But, I thank God I was raised in a stable and healthy environment that was founded on Christ and a healthy marriage between my amazing grandparents. Herbert and Shirley Williams helped shape me into the woman you all are getting to know. Without these God fearing people, and first and foremost my Lord and  Savior Jesus Christ, I do not know where, or who I would be. Growing up with my younger sister Funtaion and younger cousin LaQuida in the house with me, I always wanted to be a good example of what to do versus not do. At this time in my life I wanted these young girls who would one day become young women to value their minds, bodies, hearts, and spirits. I placed a lot on my shoulders as a young person myself, and that was a heavy burden to bear alone. I did it however, until the burden was beginning to bury me. I had to do what I knew to do, which was give “it” and them back to Jesus. I could no longer bear this burden He never required for me to carry any longer.  Looking back now, we never know why we go through what we go through until we get on the other side of our hurt, disappointments, issues, and heartache. Oh! But when we get there, it begins to make sense if we would dare allow the Holy Spirit to shine a light in the dark places and crevices of our hearts, heal our wounds, and counsel us like only He can.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Certified Life Coach who wants to help the children of God get the help, healing, and deliverance they need from God. I also work full time, as a Patient Registration Representative in the medical field. In all that I do whether professionally, socially, and personally I always try to help people experience more and more of my Savior! He is just too good not to share.  Even when the days are demanding, I try to remember, people are people,with this I am forced to not take on their problems as though they are my own. No, instead what I do is pray for them and what is bothering them. There are many lessons I have learned in my line of working with people, but one in particular is that we all just want and need to be heard and seen, and this is what I try to give every encounter I have with the people I encounter.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh! This is going to sound so bad. I am such a homebody. I love my home and the coziness I have created here. I know that’s not what people may want to read but it’s the truth. If I learn of a new spot it’s because I have been invited, not because of my own desire. So, with that being said I would say hands down it would be Dottie’s In Rockwall Texas, the seafood nachos are AMAZING!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Hands down my grandparents! Shirley and Herbert Williams. These two amazing people have helped me and led me to fall in love with Christ more than they know. I thank the Lord for my fiancé Heath, my family, my best friend LaKesha, and my tribe. You all know who you are!!! Thank you all so very much for seeing me when I did not want to be seen, holding me down when the weight and load of life was heavy on me, and most importantly for listening and encouraging me when I doubted myself. I love y’all so much!
