Meet Stephanie Mier | Founder of Persephone’s Sanctuary

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Mier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The truth of the matter is that life is a risk but something truly magical always happens when you face your fears and challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone. You either learn a valuable life lesson or you get catapulted into success, either way you end up closer to achieving your goals. Overcoming my fear of failure and the unknown has given me the confidence to stop working towards someone else’s goals and begin working towards mine and the birth of Persephone’s Sanctuary.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Persephone’s Sanctuary was built on a deep love of empowering women and is more than just a candle business or brand. It’s a self love movement intended to help you tap into your inner divine feminine and cultivate a magickal self care ritual that nourishes you body, mind, and soul so that you can manifest the life you want. We specialize in intentionally handcrafted, deliciously scented, ECO conscious candles that transform your space into a goddess’s sanctuary. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been worth it. I’ve had to work harder than I’ve ever worked before, take risks, and make a lot of sacrifices to get to where I am today but, I’m happy to say that tenacity and persistence pays off.
I feel incredibly grateful to be able to wake up and do what I love every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Alright– well you’re gonna want to start off with some delicious cocktails and Mexican food at Emma’s Mex Grill in Pearland then you’ll want to take the scenic route to spots park in downtown Houston, find a place to park and walk the trail so that you can really take in the city. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous you should definitely go check out the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center for some peace and grounding. Axelrad has a great weekday vibe! Kick back and hang out in heir beautifully lit up hammock garden. Depending on the day, you might find movies on the huge outdoor projector, pop up markets, or live music.
Another local hot spot would have to be the historic post building for tons of local talent, food, and coffee.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m blessed to be able to say that we have an abundance of beautiful humans who have helped my brand grow this year by choosing to shop with us, recommending us to friends and family, and loyally supporting us in an oversaturated market but, the number one that has been there for everything and gone through all the growing pains with me behind the scenes is my life partner, Edgar Patino. He’s been my support system since the beginning and I couldn’t have done any of this without him believing in me and pushing me to keep going when things get hard.
