We had the good fortune of connecting with Bre Elle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bre, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Since I was a kid I always dreamed of being behind the scenes creating products for people to be the best they can be and shine! My bakery model is no different in how it operates. I created my bakery business after many years of baking my famous cookies and cupcakes for my family and friends at all occasions. One day I decided I want to be a full-time creator and step out on faith to be free to follow my heart. I had experienced a health scare and through that journey to heal myself I learned a lot about food, ingredients, nutrients and healing your body with food. God even blessed me with a job working for an organic brand for a few years learning more about the productions and sourcing raw ingredients. My brand has always reflected organic and made from scratch ingredients that allowed me to naturally target my audience at the time while I was living in Denver, CO. I wanted to make sure that whoever ate my treats would not only love the taste but also reap the benefits of the ingredients I chose to use. I relocated back to my hometown of Houston,TX and that model was not quite ready yet because people still leaned on the traditional overly sugar, artificial color, etc ingredients most bakeries use. I stayed true to my branding and found my target audience once again to build my brand. I now own my own garden that I am using our plants my business partner has grown to harvest my own raw ingredients.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets us apart from other bakeries is our Pastry Chief Bre, she is eager to learn new things. No matter what is asked from a client she is willing to create and go the extra mile to bring their ideas to life. She has always been creative and very imaginative when it came to her art. There were so many learning lessons when it came to assembling cakes. The first few cakes were a struggle but over time with patience and practice the cakes we make not only taste amazing but have evolved so much. The best part about baking is you get to eat something that not only ascetically is pleasing on the eye but once you get a taste it just melts in your mouth and makes you smile! When you order from Pretty Sweets you get to speak directly with the owners as we are still very much hands on. You will be serviced from start to finish and in-between to ensure that we can deliver what we promise. We take pride in what you eat, with our ingredients are from farm to table. Never using any Artificial color, product or additives, always made fresh to order and delivered or shipped directly to your door!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots to visit for outdoor activities one location is Discovery Green. There is always an activity to get into for free a lot of times and plenty of great restaurants, bars and places to walk or ride a bike/scooter. I enjoy being outside majority of the time. I choose locations to eat that have a great patio with amazing views!! As far as food places I love its too many to name, there is never a bad choice when it comes to dining in Houston!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, we would like to give recognition to God for blessing our bakery business so much! We would not even be in operation without God allowing us to grow and have such great friends and family that share and support daily! We have amazing clients that we appreciate so much! Each of our clients have helped us to grow and learn so many things from presentation when we started offering cakes, to giving us compliments for our great taste and packaging. Growing up Bre had so much freedom to get in the kitchen and start baking cupcakes & cookies for church bake sales, family functions and for random Tuesdays at young age!
