Meet Nubia Hernandez | Makeup Artist and Owner of N.H Beauty

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nubia Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nubia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own business came from the desire to create something that would bring joy to others while also creating the freedom to life the live that I want for myself and my family. I’ve always had a passion for beauty. Helping others feel beautiful and confident is something that brings me purpose in life that is why I decided to go to cosmetology school. While my time in cosmetology school, i discovered my true passion, which is makeup and that is when N.H Beauty was born.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
N.H Beauty was created by me for my clients and potential clients. To be able to give them a luxury makeup service. For any event or occasion, they may need. I also provide Bridal services and hair services. I will be adding more services soon! N.H Beauty is still developing and still has way more to bring to the table so please be on the lookout.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
N.H Beauty is my baby and it has took a lot of work to be where I am today and there is still much work left to come. I’m a big believer in always learning and growth in any way possible. What i love about the beauty industry, is always evolving with new trends and new techniques. So there is always growth to be made. One of the biggest challenges we have as a makeup artist/ business owner, is being able to stand out and that comes with being yourself. There is truly no right or wrong way to do anything in this industry. Everyone has there own way of doing things and I believe that is what makes each of us stand out. That is what you have to master. Don’t try to fit in because someone said this is the “right” way. We all have different skills, techniques and ways of doing things. That is the challenge – being yourself through your work. Along the way I’ve learned being consistent is key, and that is something I believe we all struggle with but that comes with putting in work to be able to grow your business. Always having an open mind. One on the things that I always make sure I do in my business, is giving each and every individual that books with N.H Beauty, my absolute best in every possible way. That is what I want people to say about me and my business.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My daughter most of all. She has always been motivation to keep pushing through everything and anything. To do better for the both of us. Of course, my family and loved ones, that have been there motivating me and supporting me trough it all. And lastly, my loyal clients, who make it worth it all. Always supporting me and showing up. Without each and every one of them N.H Beauty would not be here. I am super grateful for all of them.
