We had the good fortune of connecting with Cooper Abercrombie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cooper, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We have always had a servants mindset. Creating smoked goods for the community is what we feel allows us to serve those in our surrounding area by providing a quality product.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We create craft smoked goods in a central Texas style format. We use high grade meats, prime or better for everything and use a very simple Salt and Pepper rub. We create everything from scratch, make our own sausage and create baked goods serving a breakfast menu that many other bbq spots don’t.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would stop by Tejas in Tomball, Brett’s in Katy, Feges BBQ and Corkscrew. Those four stops are a solid week of world class bbq

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everyone in the barbecue scene. Just way to many people to shoutout. The barbecue scene has welcomed us with open arms, as they do everyone that comes in with a true thirst for knowledge and approaches it with a humble mindset. But if I really had to single someone out it would be probably Jacob Lloyd at Tejas or Jonny and Lane at Goldee’s. They are a few that I talk to weekly just bouncing ideas around.
