We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Malik and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Pakistan, in the bustling and charming city of Peshawar. Not long after, at a mere 3 years old, my family and I moved to the UAE. That’s really where my story begins. I started going to work with my father at a very young age and, in turn, discovered my passion for entrepreneurship! Growing up in such an empowering environment, with a parental figure who gained immense success in building his business empire from the ground up, I knew I had big shoes to fill, and I couldn’t be more excited.
I later moved to the UK with my family, specifically London. I completed high school and graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in Business and Management. This experience further bolstered my ability to interact with people from all walks of life and fall in love with the multitude of cultures that it exposed me to. This engagement pushed me to seek a career that involved making new connections continuously with people from contrasting cultures and backgrounds.
Therefore, when my family chose to settle down in Houston, I decided to start a career in real estate. This has enabled me to work passionately towards helping people and playing a positive role in their life-changing decisions as well as allowing me to work alongside my father at this architecture firm in hopes of someday carrying on his legacy.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I strive to bridge the gap between my clients and their real estate desires. My insatiable commitment to bringing my clients the most professional, thorough, trustworthy, and dedicated service sets me apart from others. My purpose is to provide clients with the most stress-free and enjoyable experience that is entirely customized to their needs. For example, whether you’re the type of person who only prefers to be communicated with a few times a week or someone who prefers to be communicated with 24/7. I’ve got you covered!
Furthermore, the most auspicious moments for me are seeing the look on clients’ faces when they talk about their dream home and subsequently seeing that same look on their faces when they walk into that home for the first time. Being a part of such an experience in any capacity is immensely gratifying and therefore it is the reason I love what I do.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start by taking them to my favorite restaurant and bakery, La Conchita Cafe! They are located in Katy and have the best Mexican food you’ll ever try, alongside customer service that will make you feel like part of the family.
I would then take them downtown for lots of sightseeing and shopping, perhaps even stop by one of the many beautiful parks for a picnic. Of course, no weekend in Houston would be perfect without a traditional afternoon tea at the gorgeous St. Regis Hotel. Lastly, we would end the week with a proper English breakfast at the Red Lion British Pub.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big shoutout to my parents for inspiring me and supporting me in all my endeavors. Additionally, shoutout to everyone who has impacted my life in any way, good or bad. It has shaped me into the individual I am today and I am grateful for it.
