We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristofer McKinney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristofer, how do you think about risk?
Ultimately, being put into situations where you have to continuously contemplate if the outcome will be successful or not, can really take a toll on your mental. What I have learned is that being able to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations showcases a level of growth, perseverance, and bit on confidence to get you through such a trying time. All risk come with an expected outcome, but you are the variable that can determine the end result. If you can properly execute the plan that you have set in place, there is a good chance you will achieve the expected result. Being able to bet on yourself and actually come out on top with good results is a such a heart warming feeling and if the results do not come out as expected, you take that moment to evaluate the situation, implement the corrections, and go after it again with a better approach. This is how you get it done!

What should our readers know about your business?
Well, the name of the business is Kaptured. “Where we are kapturing moments in real time, to share for a lifetime”. This 360 photobooth company has been operating a little under a year now, and we have had a successful run sense opening for operation. What is exciting about running a business like this is (.1) I love to have a good time, so I get bring a good vibe to those who decide to book with us. (2.) The joy that you get from being able to see others enjoy themselves is such a rewarding experience and (3.) The very most exciting part is that I get to reap the benefits of the hard work that started out as a vision and I am able to see this business thrive in reality. It has not been easy running a small business, but the greatest lesson I have learned is that originality is key and if you want to provide customers with a good experience, be willing to go the extra mile so that their impression of your business reputable and long lasting. It is no better feeling than to live an actual dream and I am excited to see where Kaptured is going in the near future.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Haha, well they may need to make sure that their trip is at least a month long because there are so many places to choose from! So, the itinerary might look a little something like this.

Monday- Let’s get out the house. We can go to betelgeuse for food and drinks/ and Cidercade for the Adult Arcade.

Tuesday- Fusion Taco, La Calle, Pistolero’s, or Seaside for Taco Tuesday

Wednesday- Roots Wine Bar to relax

Thursday- Steak night at Lost & Found

Friday- Happy Hour Grooves of Houston, FAO Rooftop Arcade and Clutch Bar

Saturday – Let’s go kick it at either Preslees, Moonshine Deck, or McIntyre’s for the College Football, then potentially head to The Address for the Saturday Day Party, and end the night at Uptown Hookah Lounge

Sunday – We Brunch on Sundays! Let’s start the morning off at church and we then can either go to A’bouzy, City Cellars, Chapman and Kirby, KISS Houston, Drix, Toasted Yolk, Trez Wine & Art Bar, or Max’s Wine Dive. To keep the vibes going, we can make our way to Belle Station or The Savoy, and we can call it a night after this.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My support system has gotten me where I am today! There were many times where I was doubtful in my ability and just felt like I was not doing enough, but I am so thankful for those who contributed to me being who I am today. My mother and father have been great influences in my life from just seeing their work ethic growing up as a child and even in today’s time. I truly appreciate my good friends; my hometown Mobile, AL; my home away from home, Baton Rouge, LA; and my mentors for supporting me through it all.
