I live by 2 quotes! 1. If you sty in your lane, you’ll never miss your turn. That means stay focused on what I’m doing, and don’t get distracted by looking around at what others are doing. If I stay focused on my job, I’ll get every opportunity I’m suppose to get. 2. You can’t be afraid to starve. In the entertainment business as an entrepreneur you can’t be afraid to not have money, comfort, access, and so many other creature comforts we may desire or be use to. You have to be able to go without sometimes, to get where you want to be. Read more>>

One of my favorite quotes is from a favorite book, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, “The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.”  The pandemic has certainly made me focus on the small things we can’t do anymore, such as hugging a friend and gathering for a special milestone. I love this quote because it affirms that sometimes we need to be shaken to our core to loosen and release the baggage that we accumulate over time only to realize that it has always been about the things that cannot be bought. I have several and majority come from my personal experiences in which I have written over the years, share with others, and now I have a compilation of quotes that I have formed into a book that is currently in the publishing process. It will be available for everyone this year, POCKET OF NOTES. We all have a story, some maybe a few. Through our experiences, we not only have the capability to share support and insight to others, but also resources. Unity with community is my life staple. It is not only how we survive, but thrive! “Remain compassionate by never forgetting your story”- A.M.W “Unity with community”- A.M.W. Read more>>

I actually have a favorite Bible verse that I strive to live by. I love it because it is how I want to live daily with God’s grace along the way. “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:25-30‬ ‭NLT‬‬. There are so many affirmations I love! I even compiled a lengthy list of great ones on both my blog and Instagram page. One of my all-time favorites is by James Keller: “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” I find this so significant in the blogging world because it means you have nothing to lose by helping bring someone else up. It costs nothing to support fellow bloggers on social media and nine times out of ten when I’m supportive of someone else they, in turn, do the same for me. Read more>>

One of my favorite affirmation, that I like to remind myself and both my daughters Destinee, 27 and Arianna, 17 is, “She believed she could, so she did”. It may seem to be a simple statement that can seem impossible at times but when acted upon is unstoppable. To me the power of these words just believe and do…. Believing in yourself is stronger than any force of nature yet for so many it can be very difficult to do. But I encourage myself, my girls and others to take hold of this truth and dare to believe in yourself! With God’s will amazing things will happen when you do it. Although, it may take a little time but soon enough you begin to see the results of believing and doing. Most importantly having faith in God because nothing is impossible without him. Read more>>

One of my favorite quotes is “Amor Fati”, which means love of fate or more specifically, love of one’s own fate. I think that everything happens for a reason and that it is important to not just accept, but to love everything that happens in life. I find it extremely reassuring to remind myself of this when dealing with loss or when things are not going the way I would like them to. It’s like a little trick I play on myself when dealing with adversity, but it’s also good to reflect on when I’m feeling blessed or just having a normal day. Read more>>
