The harm personal care & beauty products are causing Black women’s health is something we have spent years being aware of on a large scale. So what can you really do if you simply don’t know something? You do the best you can. Then when you learn that 75% of products marketed to Black women include ingredients that are directly harmful to our health, you become a different version of yourself. A more education version. So what do you do now that you know something new? You do better. You do the best you can. This quote means grace to be. Keep growing. Keep pushing. Keep evolving. But at all times, do your best. I constantly tell myself and others, “Do what you wanna do.” It sounds silly and simple, but at the end of the day you always know what is best for you and what it is that you truly want. You have to listen to your intuition. Trust yourself. You don’t want to be stuck in a situation where someone else is in control of your happiness. We all desire to be in charge of our own life. Life happens and we will never be fully in control of our destiny; however, there are certain things we CAN work on maintaining. Our happiness is one of those things. Even if you are depressed or going through a horrible time (and trust me I’ve been there), you can still opt to fight through it for your happiness.
