We had the good fortune of connecting with Hang Bower and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hang, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our thought process for starting our own talent management and executive search business was to provide services that companies truly needed. Throughout the years of business development, owning a P&L, human resources and talent management industry roles, I recognized that my clients really needed help in communicating their brand, creating an engaging culture, articulating qualities of people they wanted to work with and implementing a full end-to-end recruitment strategy. We were consistently being asked to help clients with executive search projects and strategies on bringing in leaders to help build engaging teams. We are proud to help clients across all industries, from Fortune 50 to start up in the areas of Human Resources, IT, Operations, Finance and Accounting, Engineering and Sales.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our clients rely on us for talent management solutions including organizational design, build or restructure, setting effective talent acquisition strategies, focusing on diversity hiring strategies, managing their recruitment process, setting key performance indicators and executive search projects. What sets us apart is that we are one stop for multiple talent needs. Starting our business was challenging and has been very rewarding. We opened Ethos Consulting LC in 2018 to meet the demands of the market. Organizations needed help with their talent challenges, and we were able to help move their business objectives forward with them. One very important lesson we learned along the way is that a business relationship is a serious commitment and one you need to fully assess for compatibility, culture alignment, trust, work ethic and strategy alignment. We genuinely care and obsess over your needs. We are relentless in our pursuit of the right solutions and can help with a full spectrum of talent needs.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Houston offers so much! First stop, The Houstonian Hotel and Spa for a relaxing spa treatment or two. Then, dinner at Tribute at The Houstonian Hotel. We would include in our restaurant tour Coltivare, Caracol, Kenny & Ziggy’s, B&B Butchers, The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation, Giacomo’s, Mala Sichuan, Fung’s Kitchen, and then back to The Heights for Savoir, Maison Pucha and Mastrantos. For the arts, we would visit The Hobby Center, The Museum of Fine Arts and look for what is playing at Stages.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a shoutout to all of the strong leaders who have shaped who I am as a leader. There are so many, beginning with my sister, Hope Arnold, Director of Human Resources at The Houstonian Hotel, The Houstonian Club and Trellis, the Houstonian Spa. Hope is one of the strongest and most loyal people I have the privilege of learning from.
