Meet Aimee Jones | Co-Founder, Magical Forest Resorts & Transcendence On The Brazos | Wellness-Focused Real Estate Developer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aimee Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aimee, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Our thought process behind starting this business really wasn’t some big, perfectly mapped-out plan—it honestly evolved in real time—but it was built on an entrepreneurial foundation we already had.
I’ve been in real estate since I was 17, and my husband earned his law degree from Pepperdine School of Law, with a background in real estate and business. Alongside that, I hold a bachelor’s degree in holistic health sciences and am currently in my master’s program in natural medicine, working toward my doctorate and PhD.
We’ve also both been involved in and owned businesses within the health and wellness space, and one thing that’s always been consistent for both of us is a genuine passion to help people.
We’ve found that when you’re truly operating with purpose—when what you’re building actually aligns with helping others—it’s just more fulfilling, and honestly, things tend to fall into place in a way that feels natural. When you’re not on purpose, things don’t always flow the same way. But when you are, it really does feel like things come together the way they’re meant to.
The way this specific business started, though, was pretty organic.
We built a cabin that we were living in and originally thought maybe we’d rent it out long-term one day. But one night, without even telling my husband, I listed it as a short-term rental just to see what would happen—and it immediately started booking.
And what really solidified it for us was our very first guest.
He stayed at our waterfront Lone Star cabin and later told us how meaningful the experience had been for his family. His teenage daughter had been glued to her electronics for years, and they hadn’t really had true family time in a long time. But because the property was out in nature—and at the time, there wasn’t even Wi-Fi—she ended up being completely unplugged the entire weekend.
They spent real time together. She connected with her parents, her siblings—it gave them something they hadn’t had in years.
That moment was incredibly impactful for both Brent and me. It showed us that what we were creating wasn’t just a place to stay—it was something that could actually bring people back together.
It just feels really good to impact other people in such a positive way. There’s something very fulfilling about that, and it’s a big part of why we’ve continued to build and expand.
From there, everything started to grow.
Weekends filled up right away, and it got to the point where we were literally locking our belongings in a closet so guests could stay there.
So we leaned into it. We decided to build a treehouse next and moved ourselves into a camper while we were building.
Then we listed the camper… and it rented almost immediately too.
That’s when everything really clicked. We realized we could create multiple income streams on the same property, so we started adding RV spots, bringing in more units, and expanding the experience.
That first property grew into four vacation rentals, 17 RV sites, a swimming pool, and a large pond.
From there, we scaled into our second property in Plantersville, Texas, which includes four vacation rentals, 38 RV sites, a swimming pool, and a creek that runs throughout the property.
That evolution became Magical Forest Resort.
Now we’re working on our next concept—Transcendence on the Brazos, located on the Brazos River in Mineral Wells, in Palo Pinto County, which is actually nicknamed the Wellness Capital of Texas.
This one is really special to us because it brings everything together—our experience in hospitality, real estate, and wellness—but more importantly, our desire to create spaces where people can truly slow down, reconnect, and be present.
It’s designed to be a more elevated, wellness-focused retreat centered around nature, grounding, and intentional escapes.
The first phase, with riverfront cabins and RV sites, is planned for Spring 2027, and a larger wellness facility is expected to follow with completion in 2028.
So while the journey might sound a little unconventional, it’s really just been about taking action, staying aligned with purpose, and continuing to build something that genuinely impacts people in a positive way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our path into this space wasn’t something we planned step by step—it really evolved organically, but it was built on a strong foundation of entrepreneurship, business experience, and a deep passion for health and wellness.
For over 12 years, the vision for what we’re building today was something we carried with us—it started as an idea we had put on a vision board long before it became real.
During that time, we were focused on building another successful business in the wellness industry that scaled to over $10 million annually. That experience gave us invaluable insight into growth, operations, and what it takes to build something at scale. As that chapter came to a close, it gave us the opportunity to relocate to Texas and begin building what we had always envisioned—something more aligned with our long-term purpose around wellness, nature, and meaningful experiences.
One of the things we truly appreciate about Texas is the environment it provides for entrepreneurs. Compared to our previous business experiences on the West Coast, we’ve found Texas to be incredibly supportive when it comes to getting things done efficiently and being able to execute on ideas. That flexibility has allowed us to be creative, move quickly, and bring our vision to life in a way that might not have been possible elsewhere.
Our journey into hospitality started in a very real and hands-on way. We built a cabin that we initially planned to rent long-term, but one night we decided to list it as a short-term rental just to see what would happen. Almost immediately, weekends began booking, and it quickly became clear there was strong demand.
From there, things moved quickly. We built a treehouse, moved into a camper ourselves, and continued expanding. That camper ended up being rented out as well, which led to the realization that there was a much bigger opportunity. That’s how the RV park concept was born.
What started as one property grew into a 4.5-acre development with vacation rentals, RV sites, and amenities designed for families to reconnect and enjoy nature. From there, we expanded into our second property in Plantersville, Texas, which includes four vacation rentals, 38 RV sites, a creek running through the property, and additional guest experiences.
What sets us apart is that we didn’t come into this from a theoretical standpoint—we lived it. We took risks, made decisions in real time, and built everything from the ground up while raising a family. We understand both the operational side and the guest experience on a very personal level.
One of the most impactful moments early on was hearing from one of our very first guests, who shared that their teenage daughter—who had been constantly on electronics—was able to disconnect and truly reconnect with their family during their stay. That moment reinforced for us that what we were building was more than just a place to stay—it was something that could genuinely impact people’s lives.
That realization is what ultimately led us to where we are now.
There were also moments along the way that tested us. At one point, I spent six to eight months trying to find a bank that would support us in continuing to build and expand what became Magical Forest Resort. It felt like every door was closed, and I was getting close to giving up—but I didn’t. I kept going, and right when it felt like it might not come together, the right bank came forward.
That experience reinforced something we’ve always believed: persistence matters, and when you stay committed, things have a way of working out.
Today, we are building Transcendence on the Brazos in Mineral Wells, Texas—officially designated by the Texas State Legislature as the Wellness Capital of Texas—which will serve as our luxury wellness-focused brand. This project is a natural evolution of everything we’ve done so far, combining our background in business, real estate, and wellness into one intentional experience.
The first phase of the project, including riverfront vacation rentals and RV sites, is scheduled for Spring 2027, with a large wellness facility planned for completion in 2028.
It hasn’t always been easy—there were risks, unknowns, and moments that forced us to grow—but we’ve found that when you’re aligned with your purpose, things tend to come together in ways you can’t always plan.
For us, this isn’t just business—it’s something we feel called to build, and that’s what continues to drive us forward.
We’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead and look forward to serving the community and guests from all across Texas, while also being able to call Mineral Wells home for our family and our three young kids.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

to me
We love spending time around Lake Conroe, so that would definitely be one of our go-to spots. We’d probably start with lunch or dinner at Margaritaville—it’s a great atmosphere right on the water and always a fun place to relax and enjoy the view.
If the kids are with us, we’d spend time at the water park there as well. It’s such a fun experience for families and a great way to enjoy being outdoors together.
We also love getting out on the lake, so we’d take them wakeboarding or just cruising around. There’s something about being on the water that’s both energizing and relaxing at the same time.
We also enjoy spending time in The Woodlands. Getting a massage or doing something wellness-focused is always a favorite for us, and then heading over to The Woodlands Mall for a little shopping and walking around is a great way to spend the day.
We’d also take a trip out to Washington-on-the-Brazos to experience some of the history and culture of the area. It’s such a unique part of Texas and a great way to slow down and appreciate where everything began.
And of course, we love spending time at our own properties—fishing, kayaking, and canoeing at Magical Forest Resort are some of our favorite ways to unwind and connect with nature.
Overall, we tend to gravitate toward experiences that get you outside, help you reset, and allow for real connection—that’s really what we value most.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would definitely give a shoutout to my husband, Brent. Everything we’ve built has truly been a team effort, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without his support, encouragement, and partnership.
From the very beginning, he’s believed in the vision—even in moments where things felt uncertain or when we were taking risks that didn’t always make sense on paper. He’s been steady, thoughtful, and always willing to step in and help figure things out alongside me.
He’s also been a huge supporter of my personal growth, especially encouraging me to pursue my education in natural medicine and stay focused on that path while building businesses and raising a family. That support has meant a lot to me.
I also want to give a lot of credit to our kids. They’ve been incredibly supportive throughout this journey and have made sacrifices along the way—whether that was giving up time, missing out on certain activities or sports at times, or just being patient while we worked to build something bigger for our family. That’s not something we take lightly, and it means a lot to us.
We’ve both shared a long-standing connection to health and wellness, and what’s really meaningful is that after years of building in real estate, we’re now coming back to that space in a much bigger, more aligned way.
This wellness resort we’re expanding into is something we’ve truly wanted to do for a long time—it feels like everything we’ve been working toward. In a lot of ways, it’s a full-circle moment for us, and it aligns with who we are and what we feel called to build.
When you’re on purpose, things really do start to come together in a different way, and we’ve felt that throughout this process.
We’ve built everything side by side—from living in a cabin and renting it out on weekends, to growing into multiple properties and now stepping into something even more intentional.
It’s never just been me—it’s always been us.
I’m incredibly grateful to have a family that supports the vision and helps bring it to life every step of the way.
