Meet Alissa De Jongh, N.d | Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, International Wellness Expert and Professor of Facial Esthetics

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alissa De Jongh, N.d and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alissa, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The single most important decision I made that contributed to my success was committing to a lifelong learning path. Recognizing the value of continuous education, I pursued advanced graduate degrees that allowed me to integrate traditional and modern medical practices, which in turn enabled me to better support my patients through integrative medicine. This commitment to learning didn’t stop with my formal education; over my 30+ year career, I have consistently sought to expand my knowledge and expertise. This knowledge allows me not only to treat patients with a well-rounded approach but also to give back to the next generation of healthcare professionals. As a professor, I am able to share my experiences and insights with my students, and through my international lectures on skin science, I am fortunate to share this knowledge with professionals across the globe.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been driven by one simple yet powerful goal: to help 10 million people look and feel beautiful in my lifetime. While some might think this is an outrageous number, I truly believe with every part of me that I can achieve it. Getting to this point professionally has not been easy—life is full of challenges and obstacles, but every struggle has been worth it. The journey has been one of resilience, growth, and unwavering dedication to my mission of empowering others to embrace their health and beauty from the inside out.
As an international wellness expert, Naturopathic Doctor, CIDESCO Diplomat, and Professor of Facial Esthetics, my work spans over thirty years in the world of business, beauty, and holistic health. I’m proud of the unique combination of skills I bring to the table: blending cutting-edge skin therapies like lasers, acupuncture, and nutrition coupled with holistic medicine to give my clients a comprehensive approach to wellness. Whether I’m teaching at Houston Community College, consulting in my Glace’ Skin Therapy private practice, or speaking at international conferences, my focus is always on helping people discover their “Glowing Skin from Within.”
What sets me apart from others is my unshakeable drive and belief that achieving my goal is possible. I’ve faced many challenges along the way, from juggling multiple educational pursuits to overcoming personal and professional setbacks, but each obstacle has only fueled my determination. I’ve learned invaluable lessons about persistence, the importance of continual education, and how to overcome self-doubt. Life may not always go as planned, but staying true to your mission and trusting in your ability to adapt is what keeps you moving forward.
Currently, I’m working towards an advanced doctorate through the DAOM program at Five Branches University, continuing my education to serve my patients and students even better. My journey is not just about me—it’s about giving back, whether it’s through my podcast The Glow Therapy Podcast, my teaching, or speaking on skin histology and oncology esthetics. Every step I take is rooted in my mission to help others experience optimal wellness, and with every person I reach, I feel more connected to that purpose.
The world should know that I am dedicated to a holistic, integrative approach to beauty and wellness, and my work is fueled by passion, experience, and a relentless desire to create lasting change. My brand is about empowerment, education, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel radiant from within. I am here to guide others on their journey to glow, and I will stop at nothing to help as many people as possible reach that goal.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to several key influences in my journey. First, to my loving family, especially my Grandmas Lola and Rose, who were both strong advocates for holistic medicine and nutrition, incorporating these practices into their daily lives and using them to help others in their community. Their wisdom and compassion instilled in me a deep respect for healing and wellness. I also want to recognize my patients over the years, whose trust in me with their skin health has been an incredible honor. Helping them achieve their wellness goals has been the heart of my work. Finally, I owe a great deal of gratitude to the professional organizations and institutions of higher education I’ve had the privilege to attend, be employed by, and lecture for. These experiences have provided me with the tools to continue learning and sharing knowledge, empowering others to better understand skin science and contributing to a greater collective well-being.
