Meet AllyAnne Thomas | Wife, Mother, Baker & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with AllyAnne Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AllyAnne, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
“We had our son, Tommy, just two months before we opened our shop. In those early months, we brought him with us every day. It was certainly a sacrifice, but also a blessing to be together as a family during such a busy season. Owning a business has given us the chance to blend our family life with our work, instead of trying to balance two separate and competing worlds.”

What should our readers know about your business?
We specialize in freshly baked kolaches—everything from traditional fruit-filled varieties to savory options made with meats from local BBQ joints and markets. One thing that makes our story unique is that we opened our bakery when our son was just two months old. It’s been such a joy to have him with us, growing up alongside the business. The journey hasn’t been easy, but we’ve learned that the most meaningful things in life usually require hard work and sacrifice. Our faith in God and strong work ethic have carried us through challenges, teaching us to be resilient and adaptable. We’re most proud of being able to serve our community with food that’s made with care, and in return we’ve been blessed with incredible support. At the heart of our brand is a simple belief: if we do what’s right, work hard, and give back, good things will follow.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit, we’d kick things off with breakfast at AllyAnne’s Kolache Kitchen—because you can’t come here and not start with kolaches! For lunch, we’d head over to Bar-A-BBQ for some incredible local barbecue, and then enjoy dinner at Emiliano’s Pizzeria, one of our favorites. In between meals, we’d spend time at the nearby parks, lakes, and pools, soaking up the outdoors. A trip to the zoo would definitely be on the list too—our son loves it, and it’s always a fun spot for families and friends.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our family and friends have been such a tremendous support to us. Their love and encouragement have carried us through this journey and helped us get to where we are today. I’ve been especially influenced by my mother and my mother-in-law. Their deep love for God and family, their strong work ethic, and their joy in serving others have been an inspiration. They’ve shaped the way we approach our business—by striving to serve our community with care, through great quality and fresh-baked food.
