We had the good fortune of connecting with ALXNDR and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ALXNDR, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my career has taught me, is that hard work always pays off. If you slack it will show, if you’re lazy it will show. No one is going to do the work for you, and you must surround yourself with like minded hardworking people to help build an empire. Rome wasn’t built by one person.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I’ve always done music, since I was 8 years. I played music with my pops on stage when the instruments were bigger than I was. The most thing I’m proud of, is I got to open for Bon Jovi at the Toyota Center in front of 18,000 people hearing the music I wrote! It was exciting and a huge eye opener that this was the career I was destined for. Hard work got me to become a professional, blood sweat and tears helped me achieve goals, and surrounding myself with like minded people allowed me to build a team that will always have my back. Anything worth having is never easy, the music I write comes easy, and playing my instruments or singing comes easy but it didn’t always. I had to earn what I have. I had to work everyday to be better, to learn more things, and always pushing myself. In my music, I always strive to write about the way I’m feeling or experiences I can create to help others understand or relate. I want the world to know that what they are feeling is normal and they aren’t alone. I hope one day that my music will help someone through whatever they are going through! And I want other brands/artists to know that with hard work, dedication and consistency they can achieve anything.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston, TX is massive, and it would be a full time job to plan something out, but because it is so diverse, it can easily be winged! I would first have them go see some things we call staples here in HTX! I would plan a trip to NASA, eat street tacos, go downtown to clubs like; Unicorn Disco or WonderBar! The Houston Zoo is always a nice place for family/friends, or shop at the Galleria!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Hxxligan. My producer and co-writer is one of the hardest working individuals I know. He’s smart and works his tail off to accomplish goals even when the favor may not always tip his way. I’m hoping with the success of my brand, allows much success for him as well.
