We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Creativity is who I am. I can remember being 9 years old cutting up my sheets to make pajama pants. I sewed them completely by hand, self taught at that. Not my best work lol. I’d try to dress bold and different and based on how I felt that day. Until I started realizing I had to dress for how I wanted to feel and who I wanted to be. That’s true creativity, creating a life before its even there. And I just never stopped.

I’ve been blessed to have a career that not only allows me to be artistic, it also allows me to ignite that in others. I’ve created a platform for stylist, designers, models and everyday people to express themselves through fashion. When I’m styling my goal is to create a confident introduction without my client ever having to say a word. When I put on fashion shows it’s about creating an experience with fashion at it’s core. How I live everyday is in pursuit of my continued creativity. If I were to do anything else I would be living outside myself, outside of what makes me truly happy. So to ask why, is to ask why I breathe. Because it’s a part of me and it comes naturally.

What should our readers know about your business?
Creatively Tailored was founded by a mom, a boss, a teacher, a speaker, an author, a fashion stylist, an event planner; so basically a SUPER HUMAN! I lived in so many worlds where it’s easy to lose yourself and get stuck in the norm. One day she decided to reclaim her creativity, confidence and boss status. That’s exactly what we want to do for others! We create wardrobes that do the taking for you. We help build confidence by bringing out the parts of you that make you happy and reminding you of who you are or reintroducing you to yourself and to the world. We tell stories with our events and fashion shows constantly showcasing others creativity. We’ve done so much to give back and impower up and coming designer, models and stylist in the fashion world. It can be an ugly place if you let it. That’s why we thrive on unity & collaborations.

It hasn’t always been easy especially midst a pandemic. We weren’t able to put on fashion shows or a lot of home visits for the wardrobe make over. However, it allowed us to expand the brand by adding online shopping and virtual consultations. We’ve added blogging to our website as well. There is so much more to come. Starting with our next event “Genesis” in August 2022. There are still so many connections to be made. I encourage others to reach out. Let’s get to work and have some fun!

What sets us aside from others is that we’re led by someone who truly loves what she does. And she’s good at it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Awesome! I love this scenario. I’m such a free spirited person I can always find the fun in anything and I love trying new things. So here’s my week at a glance.

Sunday- Brunch at Lucille’s, then games at Cidercade & closing it out at The Spot for some drinks.

Monday- We MUST find outfits for the week so hitting the Galleria. Take a break from shopping to do some skating at the Galleria ice skating rink. Then having food with the live music at The Rustic.

Tuesday- Always love a movie, food and drinks at Star Cinema Grill. Then some shopping and browsing around at Vintage Park. I strongly believe in Taco Tuesday so having friends over for game night and tacos! (I’m definitely the uno champ)

Wednesday- I love cooking so breakfast and mimosa’s on my backyard patio in pj’s is always a winner. Later that evening AvantGarden for poetry night.

Thursday- I love nature and trails so we’d do some biking at Memorial Park hiking & biking trails. Then a nice spa date at Gangnam Spa to unwind and relax after our adventure.

Friday- On Fridays we get fancy visiting Infinite nail spa & bar, getting our hair done at Black Hair Design for an elegant dinner at Del Frisco’s.

Saturday- Must end with a bang so after a seafood boil at Flava (I love seafood) I would rent out a private room Spotlight Karaoke to sing, dance and laugh the night away.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Although I am very appreciative to so many people for supporting me in everything I do, I’d like to acknowledge my sister’s at True Worship (Keysha & Deja) for always supporting every event and idea I’ve ever had. Also my sister Angelique for being a behind the scene encourager. Truthfully they pray with me, laugh with me (a lot), cry with me and always trust my process. As a creative I often have a million ideas, but when I’m truly passionate about something I know who will be there helping plan and buying the first ticket/book. Many see you, Some hate you. Some admire you. Some support you. But very few want nothing from you and only want what’s best for you. I’m fortunate to have them in my corner.
