We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony-Isaiah Cupid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony-Isaiah, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Honestly? Im inspired by my ability to create. I constantly doubt myself, felling as though I don’t have what it takes to become a successful photographer, until I pick up my camera and do something better than I did the last time. Most of the time I don’t know if I have anything good until I come home, throw it on to my computer and edit it. That’s my favorite part though, getting to create something out of nothing. That’s what I’m inspired by.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I get excited about the smallest things, someone pointing out a specific detail about a photo of mine really makes me happy for some reason. Something about the way everyone looks at things differently and how things are portrayed by others is definitely what I look forward to wanna showing off my new photos. Although I wouldn’t call myself a professional, I’m flattered by even being considered as one. I’d say that patience in every aspect is something that has gotten me to where I am today and that is what will get you to the next level in anything you want to achieve. The one thing I’d want you to know about me and my brand is that I’m Hungry, always ready and always happy to put you in front of my lens. I wouldn’t let any opportunity pass me by. Plus I like to joke around and have fun on shoots lol
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely have to go to my favorite taco spot “Lonestar Taco” first, head over to “Tiny’s Milk and cookies” for what I think are the best cookies in Houston, Then go walk it all of at buffalo bayou park where you can see the entire Houston city skyline. During the later hours of the day, I’m sure we could go to a “PrivateHTX” car show to see cool cars do donuts and burnouts, then go over to Axelrad Beer garden for some beers on Hammocks. That sounds like a really good time to me.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The man standing in the boat, also known as Ivan. That’s the person that got me started with my photography journey, the one that taught me (almost) everything I know haha. Always down to help, gives great constructive criticism, and is obviously a great model. That guy there helped me find my passion and I will forever be grateful for that.
