We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobbi Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bobbi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I saw a need in that there is not enough support for young widows
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Widow’s Wish Foundation offers support to young widows, ages 20-50, with minor children at home. What sets my nonprofit apart is that I have experienced young widowhood, firsthand.
I became a widow at the age of 41 and, at that time, had an 18 year-old in his first year of college; a 9 year-old and a 7 year-old. As I researched and tried to find resources, it became quickly apparent that not a lot of organizations deal with “young” widows; most were geared towards the older widow that society thinks of when they hear the word “widow.”
