We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Adam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandi, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I began working in real estate in 2012, after graduating from Texas A&M University (Whoop!). Before having my daughters, I was very career-minded and focused on building a solid foundation for my career. Doing so allowed me to discover myself. provide financial stability, and set a positive example for my future children.

I was pregnant with my first daughter when I got my Realtor license in 2020. Starting a business while pregnant during a pandemic had its own set of challenges, but I was determined to create a legacy for my daughter and any other future children.

The flexibility of real estate allowed me to be home with my daughters their first year of life. I think this is the most impactful thing I’ve done as a parent. I was able to be present with them, yet still chase my dreams of being a successful realtor and creating something bigger for them.

I hope my daughters will mirror the determination I experienced when starting my business and discover their passion early in life. Setting an example for my kids has always been a priority. Moms don’t have to give up everything when they have kids. It’s about finding a balance that works for everyone.

What should our readers know about your business?
After working in new construction and marketing real estate teams for almost 10 years, I decided to get my real estate license myself. It was a big “leap of faith” in myself. Going from a typical 9-5 and steady salary to commission-based and running my own business was challenging. Money was not guaranteed and I had to work harder than I have ever worked before. However, the reward was more fulfilling. I was helping people achieve their dreams of homeownership. The income became a secondary thought. I enjoyed helping people create a solid foundation for their families.

Being a full-time working and “stay-at-home” mom was challenging. Being pulled in different directions all day was an adjustment. My girls and I had to figure out a routine and what works best for our family. Eventually, I enrolled my girls in “school” part-time so I could devote more time to helping other families achieve their goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start with dinner and drinks at Romero’s in Cypress.

We would walk some local trails and explore nature. We would take our girls to Playstreet Museum, Kidtastic Park, the zoo, the Butterfly exhibit, and any fun parks & playgrounds we could find! We’d even do a beach day at Crystal Beach. We love the outdoors!

We would break away for some “me” time at Hotel ZaZa’s ZaSpa and lounge by the pool.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest supporter is my brother. He encourages me constantly to do better and to challenge myself. Sometimes, he believes in me more than I believe in myself.
