We had the good fortune of connecting with Bresha Haskins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bresha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Mystic Piece Podcast was created during the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Working from home, seemed like an awesome idea once given the opportunity; however, while at home I began to quickly notice a difference in my mental and physical health. Extreme silence, less social interaction, reduced physical activity and limited outdoor activity. However, I am grateful for my support system (my circle of wellness and encouragement). As a result, I often wondered how many others may be experiencing a similar transition and effects; most critically, those who may not have a support system? The one thing you should know about me, is my passion for people and the ideology of self. Self-empowerment, self-motivation, self-preservation and self-care. Therefore; my thought process behind starting Mystic Piece Podcast was to provide a support system to those who may not understand, acknowledge or have the courage to verbalize their mental and physical health changes.

Mental and Physical Health are vast parts of our lives that we often overlook, due to our busy schedules, careers, personal commitments, and lack of self-care. Mystic Piece Podcast aims to extend the reach across various audiences through blogging, poetry (artistry) and podcasting with discussions highlighting real life events, while bridging the importance of the mental health role in such events. Grateful to our wonderful audience, Mystic Piece Podcast has aired in over 25 Countries. In addition, to being the founder of Mystic Piece Podcast, I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor; specializing in Anxiety and Depression.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The one thing that makes me relatable is my professional background. It encompasses a combination of corporate, legal, mental health and customer service. More specifically, I’ve worked retail for 5 years early on in my professional career; 21 years of experience in the Financial and Legal Mortgage Sector and 4 years in the Mental Health Field. I am most proud of the diversity in my professional background and commitment to my life’s purpose; helping others succeed and reach their best potential in life! My journey was not an easy one, I remember having multiple jobs, while simultaneously being a full-time student in Graduate school. This experience was quite challenging for me mentally and physically; I had to make an executive decision and prioritize my wellness during my journey. As a result, I took a break from school, to work on Balance. Balance is one of the most important components in this life time! It is essential to your mental and physical wellness; this was an unforgettable lesson for me. I would like the world to know that Mystic Piece Podcast is unlike any other podcast, however, we are not any different from our audience because we too are experiencing this thing called life; together. Never allow anyone or thing to limit or place limitations on your ability or capabilities to conquer your dreams! Be patient with yourself, for this is your journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to many of the popular restaurants here in town, I love a good steak! Therefore, we would definitely have to visit a steak house (maybe 2 or 3). I also love music, poetry and comedy. Some of the most fun, interesting and exciting places to check out would be the Houston Rodeo, Houston’s Selfie Museum, Southern Food Restaurants and Rooftop Movie Theater.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My circle of wellness and encouragement: my family, professional colleagues and close friends have been very instrumental in my success, creativity and overall journey. In addition, the Mystic Piece Podcast Audience, has been committed to our podcast from the very first airing date; I would like to say thank you; sincerely, to all of the above parties mentioned. We at Mystic Piece Podcast can not thank you enough for your continued support; stay tuned to our return Summer 2022.
