We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When our family first thought about what kind of business concept we wanted to bring to the Tomball community, we immediately thought about boba tea. We knew that boba tea was a growing industry but the Tomball area really didn’t have much to serve. Therefore, we wanted to bring the best boba tea cafe (Gong Cha) in the world to this area to serve this specific region in Houston!

Every single one of the owners at Gong Cha Tomball has a full time job!

Linda Mai – Occupational Therapist at Houston Methodist

Jonathan Nguyen – Security Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Collectively, we have over 50+ years of experience in the service industry. This is what separates us from other boba tea cafes. We have created specific roles for each of the owners to provide the most amazing experience for both our customers and our team!

We are honor to be a part of Gong Cha as we believe this brand serves one of the best quality teas in the world. Some of our most popular drinks are our Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea, Passion Fruit Green Tea, Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3Js, and Matcha Tea Latte.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to give a shout out to our parents! Our parents are former owners of 2 restaurants and a catering business in Houston. Their work ethic, dedication, and passion to serve the Houston community inspired us to open up our very own business in Tomball to spread our love for boba tea!
