Meet Bronson Gutierrez | Owner/Partner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bronson Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bronson, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of FAO is the ability to stay consistent with the products and services we offer to our guest. In this industry it can be difficult to effectively be constant and deliver on a high level day in a day out. We have structure and systems in place that we follow to make sure we have a great blueprint for our staff to follow. Consistency starts with discipline and the ability to follow through by doing the same thing everyday.

What should our readers know about your business?
So I feel like what sets us apart from others is the ability to connect with individuals
and make people feel welcomed when they walk in our establishment. We are excited to change the perception of what people perceive the industry as a whole. We as a team try to get back to the roots of the industry and its about hospitality and taking care of people. This is a lost art and it’s one of most import core values here at FAOHTX. From the beginning this is a core value that I was taught and has stuck with me everyplace I went to work for. I give most of my success to this because it truly has set me apart from the rest. In a world that moves rapidly, I feel people love when you are genuine and care about making sure they have an excellent time at your venue but more importantly an experience that they will never forget. More importantly here at FAOHTX we want everyone to feel welcomed when they walk in and treat people with respect and get back to having fun and interacting with everybody.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One thing you have to factor in is Houston is broken down into areas and the city has unique sections for bars and restaurants. here is a list of few places that I would recommend.
Food Recommendations:
Italian: Bollo’s Woodfire Pizza; Hands the best in the city and the reviews prove it from the staff and excellent Italian menu.
Seafood & Steaks: Eddie V’s Kirby Location is my home away from home. They have an excellent food menu and the staff is top notch making sure your stay with them is memorable.
Sushi: Some Sushi has the best happy hour in the city, the food is next level and the kitchen crew is OG so you know eveyrhing they make slaps.
Tex-Mex: El Tiempo Cantina is a great spot for dates or groups, margarita’s always a must have and fajita platter is the most ordered.
BBQ: Blood Brothers BBQ- Another staple in the city and great people that own this establishment, they have top tier BBQ, but again come early. They sell out fast.
Fast food: Whataburger( Late night or really anytime)- Its a Texas thing but I love this because the options and I like that its consistent no matter what time of day you go and best thing (24hr)
Brunch: Weights & Measures- They always have a great brunch menu and never disappoints
Brunch: Breakfast Klub- Get there early or you will be waiting in line but hands down some of the best and kind people work there and they have chicken and waffles down. Get and you not be disappointed.
Drinks & Entertainment: Sections of Houston
Space Cowboy: (Heights) They always have events going on year around, always a good time for drinks and atmosphere.
McIntyre’s: (Heights) Great outdoor place and good place to watch live sporting events.
Unicorn Disco: (Midtown)- Fun bar, go upstairs to dance on the LED Dance floor and Dj’s always rocking.
Wonder Bar: (Midtown)- Great Instagram bar with tons of picture opportunities, very colorful and fun atmosphere.
BCD: (Downtown) This place has 3 bars in 1 (Red room,Gold Room, Main room)- it’s always a vibe no matter what room you decide to choose great cocktail menu and welcoming staff.
Dean’s (Downtown)- Oldschool vibe but OG for Main Street and always a vibe in there. Great cocktail program with a great lounge area.
Dirt bar(Downtown)-If you looking for a Rock theme bar this is right up your ally. Dark room but still cool to be in a different setting. Staff is great there don’t feel like you need to have tattoos when you walk in as it seems like a consistent thing with people that work there. I have no tattoos. lol
Poison Girl:(Montrose)- Looking for the unique liquor selection this place will shock you, I also love the pinball games they have.
Anvil (Montrose)- This is the beast for cocktail bars in the city, They have so many award winning cocktails here it’s hard to choose what’s the best. But honestly all there bars they open are top tier. (Refuge,Catbirds to name a few other concepts they own as well)
Outdoor Activities:
Buffalo Bayou Park- Perfect for biking, jogging, or a leisurely stroll with stunning views of Downtown Houston.
Kayaking on Buffalo Bayou- Rent a Kayak and explore Houston from the water.
Herman Park- Great for a walk, paddle boating on the lake, or visiting the McGovern Centennial Gardens.
Memorial Park-great trails fro running and excellent golf course if you are into that.
Discovery Green- An Urban park offering outdoor Yaga, seasonal ice skating, and live music.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank the KCH group for giving me an opportunity to grow and learn with their company. They opened the doors and trained me through the years to help develop my skills. I also would like to thank Eddie V’s Company for really taking me in and fine turning my skills behind the bar. I learned the ins and outs of the fine dining world and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the relationships and skills I learned from all the talented people I got a chance to work with.
