We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlie Stevens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I, Charlie have been in the industry the last 20 years and I’ve seen clients being sold what wasn’t in their best interest, which was my main motivation to start my own Precious Metals Company, Stevens Independent Coins and Collectibles. My grandfather inspired me with his love of coins and the Houston Astros, which my son Hunter has enthusiastically accepted the role of expanding our collectibles brand. During a typical evaluation, it is a walk down memory lane for our clients, who share personal stories of obtaining and passing coins down generation after generation. Coins unlock memories or a significance in history. We support the purity of the hobby, access to building investors generational wealth and providing a transparent white glove 1:1 service for every client.

What should our readers know about your business?
SICC is a boutique Precious Metals Dealer located in The Woodlands/Spring, Texas. What separates us apart from others is that we place if not equal or more importance on the evaluation process in a sales-driven industry. We are most proud of the team we have put together in our core and excited about the ability to expand. My love of coins started out as a childhood hobby, of which I later obtained an entry level sales role, climbing the ladder to operations then President of a larger Precious Metals Company. This experience provided a window into every aspect of the Precious Metals industry, which ultimately shaped our business culture.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Walk the Waterway and Dinner at Tris in The Woodlands, Catch a Concert in the Woodlands Pavillion and at some point go downtown for an Astros or Rockets Game.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This Shoutout is dedicated to my parents Mark and Mitzi Stevens, who have been married for 49 years and have shown what perseverance, dedication while simplifying life results are the greatest elements to success. At SICC, we do our best to simplify everything for our clients and treat them like family as it’s truly about supporting our clients and their goals.
