Hi Chelsea, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
At Marie Luxe Spa, we don’t treat skincare as something superficial—we see it as deeply connected to your lifestyle, wellness, and emotional health. Our holistic philosophy means we help clients improve their skin while also encouraging self-care habits, stress reduction, and confidence-building. It’s about treating the whole person, not just the surface.

What has truly elevated our brand is joining forces with my mom and aligning Marie Luxe Spa with Custom Care Wellness. She’s been in business for over 10 years, and her experience, wisdom, and community trust have helped strengthen and shape our brand’s foundation. Together, we’ve created a space where wellness and beauty intertwine—a family-rooted, care-driven environment that people feel connected to and safe in.

The trust we build with every client, the customized attention we give, and the generational collaboration behind our brand are what make Custom Care Wellness and Marie Luxe Spa not just successful—but meaningful.

What should our readers know about your business?
Marie Luxe Spa is more than just a place for skincare—it’s a space for healing, transformation, and personal connection. We specialize in customized treatments for acne, aging, brightening, and overall skin health, but what truly sets us apart is the way we care for our clients long after they leave. From the moment they walk in, they’re not just getting a facial or a service—they’re being seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

We don’t push the most expensive treatment just to make a sale. We guide our clients through their journey with intention and integrity. We follow up. We check in. We make sure they understand how to care for their skin at home and that they feel empowered, not overwhelmed. A lot of our clients come in with a story—they’re not just here for clearer skin, but for a transformation that often touches something much deeper. That’s something we honor and hold space for every single day.

And it’s not just Marie Luxe Spa—it’s also Custom Care Wellness, where we offer medical aesthetics, weight loss programs, wellness shots, Botox, fillers, and more. Together, we’ve created a full-circle wellness experience that supports both inner and outer transformation. Joining forces with my mother, Carmalita, who has over a decade of experience, has allowed us to combine our strengths and create something truly special—where faith, family, and personalized care are at the heart of everything we do.

Starting from scratch with no clientele wasn’t easy. I quickly realized I couldn’t do it all alone. Building the right team and leaning on the wisdom of those who came before me were essential parts of getting to where I am today. I’m proud of the growth, the intention behind our brand, and the way we’ve been able to make people feel cared for—far beyond the treatment room. We have so much work ahead of us ,but I am proud of where we are headed.

This isn’t just business—it’s purpose-driven work, and I’m so grateful to be living it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Houston for a week, I’d make sure we experienced some of the best spots in the city. We’d start the week with a delicious seafood lunch at Pappadeaux’s Seafood Kitchen, then spend the afternoon exploring Buffalo Bayou Park—it’s the perfect place for scenic views and a peaceful walk with my furbabies. We’d also visit the Museum District to check out the incredible art and history exhibits.

For a fun evening, we’d catch a movie at Rooftop Cinema, which offers a unique way to enjoy a film under the stars. Throughout the week, we’d visit Kemah Boardwalk for waterfront views and fun activities, and of course, eat at Piatto Ristorante, a cozy family-owned Italian spot that never disappoints.

Houston has so many cool spots, from delicious food to outdoor adventures, and I’d make sure we got a taste of it all—relaxing, exploring, and enjoying great food together.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shoutout goes to my mother, Carmalita Landry Ovid. She has been the heart, the backbone, and the guiding light behind so much of my journey. Watching her build and grow her own businesses over the past 10+ years has been both inspiring and empowering. She has shown me what it means to lead with integrity, compassion, and resilience. She also taught me that in the face of adversity, you never give up—and that keeping God at the center of everything you do is the foundation for lasting success.

When I started Marie Luxe Spa, she didn’t just support me—she truly invested in me with her knowledge, mentorship, and guidance.

Now that we’ve joined forces under one roof, the strength of our bond and shared mission has elevated everything we do. We’re not just working side-by-side; we’re building a legacy of wellness, care, and community together. I’m beyond grateful to have her as both a mother and a business partner.

I also want to recognize my service dog, Bella. She has been a constant source of emotional support and strength, especially in the demanding moments of entrepreneurship. Her presence helps me stay grounded, focused, and emotionally balanced. She’s more than a companion—she’s truly a part of the journey.
