We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea, how do you think about risk?
Risk is essential for business. I don’t think you should come up with a half baked plan and bet your house on it. But if you invest your time and energy and know you have something great. Bet on yourself! Everyone expects the big thing to happen and then they will take big action but that is backwards. You take BIG action then you will start to see BIG things to happen. If you don’t want to be where you are don’t wait on something to change. You make the change. Not to mention risk is a great motivator to do your best. If you have risked it all you probably will work much harder to succeed than if you hadn’t risked anything at all. Invest in yourself!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So some people would describe me as a photographer. But I don’t really see myself that way most of the time. I have a degree in photography and have spent most of my life furthering my photography education. However, my camera and light are my tools. What I do is show women how beautiful they are. I have spent a lot of my life struggling with my own self image. I can see so many women of all ages, shapes and sizes struggling too. I have found a process of working with women to make them feel truly beautiful. I watch these women open up in front of my eyes and really just let their light shine from inside out. Then the printed portraits are just a daily affirmation to look at and remind them of who they are.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming for a whole week I might take her to breakfast at Sweet Paris for some crepes. Then we would be too close to Tiffany & Co not to go there. (I am a huge Tiffanys fan). I might schedule a spa day for us at Woodhouse spa. Swedish massages, facials and pedicures.

We could grab dinner one night at Pappasito’s since I know she misses Mexican food.

One day I would bring my kids and we could all paddle on the swan boats in The Woodlands.

But then again why do swan boats when we could go to lake Conroe and rent a pontoon boat for a few hours and have some fun. Heck maybe we would do both. That way we could get a little fishing in too!

Somewhere in the week we might grab some dinner at Trulucks. And I would for sure leave my kids with my husband and stay with her one night at The Woodlands Resort so we could enjoy some pool time together. I guess that is why I love this area. We can fit in luxury and country fishing into the same week!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It is so hard to recognize just one person. I am constantly learning and improving from so many different people in my life. However, here is a glimpse into people that have helped me along my journey. I have to say my mentor Megan DiPiero took me from where I was stuck in my photography journey and helped me reach my next level. She really opened my eyes up to possibility I just wasn’t seeing before. Also I have a group of women that I mastermind with all over the country that help push me to be the very best I can be. They offer not only support but tough love. Which I think is something we all need sometimes.
