We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Adaeze Nwoha, MD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christine Adaeze, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to charge the way people approached their health.
I wanted to empower my patients to make meaningful changes.
As a physician working in the hospital I started to realize that many patients didn’t know how sick they were until it was too late. Many times they didn’t take their health seriously because they weren’t aware of the implications that their lifestyle was having on their body. What I assumed was common knowledge, was not. When I started to educate my patients and clients they would see so much improvement and would thank me for taking the time to break things down in a digestible way, giving them the opportunity to optimize their lives.
I combine medicine with lifestyle coaching. I believe that with the right information along with guidance and support you can reverse many chronic diseases and lengthen your life!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a health coach, author, content creator. I believe that learning about how to take care of yourself better can be fun. I believe in the power of good foods, good habits and a healthy lifestyle. Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity can be resolved without having to depend on medication if you put in the work!
Initially I created a small business to take clients to coach one on one to reverse disease, but with the success stories I felt I should extend my services as far as I can to whoever is willing to hear. I am on different platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook educating my followers and showing them what it means to be healthy. I also have my first book launching in July, “How to Reverse High Blood Pressure Naturally.”
My goal is just to spread the news that wellness is accessible to everyone.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a firm believer in supporting small businesses, visiting local shops, mom and pop family owned business with history.
I love to eat but I eat healthy. It sounds like that would be a challenge but it’s not. I love showing friends and family how going out can be made into a healthy affair.
Food wise I love vegan restaurants like: Trendy Vegan, Loving Hut, Green Seed has the best veggie burgers and even raw options.
I will go anywhere that will build me a delicious vegetable pizza, North Italia does not disappoint me and neither does Luna Pizzeria.
For tea I will go to Path of Tea and smell away at their vast selection before settling down to read and have a clean pastry.
I stay active so going ace throwing or ice skating at Jefferson Ice. I’m still looking for a roller skating rink.
If the day is pretty, and it usually is in Houston, I can just walk or run at Hermann Park, swing by a museum and stop at Fadis before heading home.
Massages are my jam, Houston has many options, whether you want a quick reflexology, head, shoulder and foot massage at Amore or a full blown luxurious experience at the Post Oak Hotel. I am a regular at Healing Hands.
Mostly, when have a friends over we just tour all the city has to offer from the popular spots to the hidden gems, there is so much to discover.
I know that was a lot of information but I love to explore Houston and I’m a Yelp Elite Gold Member so that should tell you something as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Firstly I have to shoutout the Almighty God in Heaven. He makes all things possible, and if it weren’t for his love and grace I would not be able to do what I have done so far. Being able to put my fears and burdens on him while pushing through, doing everything through Christ who strengthens me, and forever seeking the Kingdom is what makes my efforts successful
Next I shoutout every patient, client, follower, and friend who has encouraged me by supporting my content, pouring into me positively and encouraging me to continue on my path . They have made me feel I am in the right trajectory, and it is a powerful reminder to stay on track.
