We had the good fortune of connecting with Come Alive and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Come, is there something you believe many others might not?
When people ask for advice or tips, we tell them there’s no one-size-fits-all formula. Everyone’s journey is unique, and success in any business or brand doesn’t follow a single blueprint. What really matters is understanding what’s at stake, believing in yourself, and staying resilient. That mindset will take you farther than trying to replicate someone else’s path.

We trust the universe to guide us, and as long as we do that, we’ll stay true to our authentic path—as individuals, as a band, and as a business.

We’re never afraid to take risks in our decisions or work as a band. From the start, we’ve committed fully—there’s no backup plan if the band doesn’t succeed. Any failures or challenges we face are simply learning experiences that we integrate into our workflow.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Most of our band members come from hardworking families who did their best to survive and raise us. We didn’t come from money, we didn’t have access to top-tier education, college funds, or cars on our 16th birthdays.

We came from the hood, and when we play music, we’re not just musicians showing off technical skills. We’re telling our story. We’re using the gifts the universe gave us to create art that comes from a real place.

When you listen to Come Alive, you’re not getting cookie-cutter bullshit. We’re not hiring ghostwriters. Yes, we follow pop song structures, but the lyrics Toby writes are always rooted in real experiences the places he’s been in life. We’re simply reflecting that in our art, whether it’s good or bad.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When it comes to food, you’ve got to hit up Taqueria Del Sol. It’s a staple for Houstonians who know good food. It’s not a tourist spot, so don’t expect the hype of places like Turkey Leg Hut or The Breakfast Klub, but what you get is authentic Mexican-style food at a great price, with excellent service a traditional spot that’s been going strong for over 40 years.

Other than that, we’d recommend staying in your hotel or relaxing at home. Houston is filled with heavy traffic and frequent car accidents, and crime so it can be a concern. Honestly, if you can, we’d suggest skipping the visit and instead recommending us some places to check out!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Every Producer we’ve worked with has been so helpful and has taught us so much about song writing and about being our authentic selves and navigating our way through the industry. Shout out to Andrew Wade, Andy Karpovck, Robby Joyner, Richard Wicander, Jonathan Dolese, Corey Redick and our Bassist who also produced music Christopher Lee!
