We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I always liked technology and all the solutions you can get from it. I simply started helping some neighbors and friends to troubleshoot computers, network simply things, then word started to spread out and people started asking me for help and that is how Grizzly Tec started. It was just a part time job for weekends and since 2016 it is now my full time job.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Since I was in High school I always loved helping others and still I love it, so Grizzly Tec started as doing favors to friends and neighbors and then other people started calling. One thing I believe set us apart from other business int he Smart Home and Audio Video industry is since the beginning we focused completely in the customers not in the product. What I mean by that is most of the business try to sell you a product and adequate your lifestyle to that product or family of products and it becomes a matter of budget size too. In Grizzly Tec the first thing we do for our customers is meet with them and understand their need and the goals they want with the project. A quick example I had a call the other day to do 6 network drops in a house, so I got there and assess the house and it was a prewired hose the only thing I did was change the location of their network modem and done problem solved. That is why it is important for us to understand what is the customer problems or goals, we are supposed to be the experts and that is why they look for us to give them a solution not to lie to sell more things even when the customer does not need it. So this is who we are at Grizzly Tec a company focused in our customers giving them solutions to their problems, real simple solutions using technology that best fits the customer daily life and not the other way around.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Favorite places to visit: Burroughs park, Houston Natural Science Museum, Houston Zoo, Huntsville, The Historic Hill house and Farm Favorite Activities: Biking in The Woodlands trails, hiking in Huntsville and The woodlands trails, Camping Places to eat and drink: Cork Screw BBQ, Tejas Burger Joint, Lupe Tortilla, The Kitchen. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To my Wife Marce she has always supported me and help me to follow my dream even when that meant looking for a job to support economically our family while I started Grizzly Tec, and at the same time taking care of our kids since I worked long shifts. To my parents because of them I became the man I am now. They always tech us how to be entrepreneurs and the value of hard work and honesty. To my children, because of them I will keep dreaming and reaching for the stars so they can do the same.
