We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danny, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Houston Ghost Tour isn’t just about ghosts. Our company is an entertainment business, that showcases talented storytellers, actors, and guides. We are all about theatrical entertainment that is good for everyone. So whether you’re into ghosts, history, or just love to be entertained, we offer something fun for anyone.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have spent a long time trying to figure out what customers wanted. For a long time I painted my face to look scary, and got really good at face painting art. It was a lot of fun. After a while, I realized I didn’t need to paint my face to be interesting and entertaining, and now folks just enjoy the tour for what it is. We worked very hard to make it fun for everyone.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Houston the Museum of Natural Science is a must. It’s a fantastic place to visit on your trip, and great for the whole family. They say at night, the bodies from the BodyWorlds exhibit, where cadavers have no skin and are exposed for viewing, walk through the hallways. Restaurants on Montrose, lots of good ones there. And for sure Hermann Park. In Spring, we love Old Town Spring, as it’s the 6th most haunted old west town in the US, so not short of hauntings wherever you go. We love to eat at Golden Jade, Ellens Cafe, and visit the shops around town. If you have a long day, Creations market and workshop is a great place to create art.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are so grateful for our customers, friends and family, who have time and time again, supported us throughout the years. Without their repeat business, or their constant support, we wouldn’t be the great thing we have become.
