We had the good fortune of connecting with DAnte Cox and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DAnte, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel that many people don’t take a risk nowadays. You want know the outcome tell you do it. I took a risks by giving artists free beats for the longest. I knew what the outcome was going to be by doing that and now I see more people coming to me to get beats.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What set me apart from others is my sound. I have a sound that you can’t duplicate or imitate. It took me years to get where I’m at. It was a little rocky starting off because I really didn’t know anything. As time went by I learn a lot. They key thing is to keep pushing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would have to take a 45 minute drive to New Orleans and go to The Big Ez or hit up Bourbon street and get some drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s to many people to name but I just want to shoutout everybody. Without y’all I don’t know where I would be at.
