We had the good fortune of connecting with Deborah Argyropoulos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deborah, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I have two favorite quotes, and an awful memory so it is amazing I actually remember them and tell them to myself frequently. 1. “At the end of the game the king and pawn go back into the same box.” Funny enough I got this from a fortune cookie decades ago and it is so spot on. It means to me everyone is the same. At the end of the day (life) we all transcend. No one is more important than anyone else because of how much money they have or what position they hold in life. 2. “It’s never too late to be who you might have been” by George Eliot. I literally stopped in my tracks when I saw this quote in a store window when I lived in Los Angeles. I sobbed it hit me so hard. In fact, this quote was the catalyst in me focusing 100% on being a full time oil painter.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
2021 is an exciting time in my career. Over two decades I have worked with amazing companies, local and national, specializing in large scale fine art for upscale corporate and residential entities. I just launched a new division of my Fine Art company, named Corporate ART Smart, Llc. Corporate ART Smart (corporateartsmart.com ) works strategically with builders, architects, interior design companies, directors of acquisitions, and procurement teams by pairing artwork whose color, imagery and scale are appropriate for commercial spaces; creating an attractive and inspiring work environment for their clients and residents. We specialize in custom large scale, original pieces as well as reproductions for resorts, hotels, commercial buildings, galleries, and private residences. What sets me apart from other artists is having the knowledge and experience on both sides of the “business”. I have handled every aspect through my career from getting the client, creating the vision, producing the art, finalizing the costing, and supervising installation. Anything worth doing has challenges, and that is to be expected. I have learned if I am honest, straight forward, hardworking and surrounded by a good team of people there is no limit to what can be achieved. I am also very proud that each year our company donates time, and / or art to non profits and schools for fundraisers, auctions and workshops. Below is a list of some of the organizations we have donated to. -Breast Cancer Resource Center -Beverly Hills Cancer Hospital -Dell’s Children’s Hospital -Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum -Central Austin Food Bank -Dallas Police Museum -Make A Wish Foundation -Austin Dog Alliance -Humane Society -Rise School of Austin -Austin Chamber Music -Orange Ribbions For Jaime -Firefly -Austin Pets Alive -Innocence Project -Goodwill -Center for Child Protection Services -MS society And so many others! (known and unknown to the public- all causes are important and we are here to help)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people along my journey that if not for them I wouldn’t be where I am at in my career. They know who they are as I still thank them and let them know to this day how my life would have been different without them. Ironically, even the lack of support from some helped me to get where I am today. And believe me , they know who they are as well!
