We had the good fortune of connecting with Money Making Sace and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Money Making, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
There’s no better than feeling that creating. Whether if I’m rapping, producing, engineering, or designing clothes, the feeling is amazing. I don’t do it for clout though, I understand everyone isn’t going like some of the things I create but that’s perfectly fine, as long as I like it. I began pursuing music my senior year of high school. It really all started after I didn’t make my high school basketball team. Looking back, I’m glad it happened, I hated running, and getting yelled by coaches. But I still love the game though ( Allen Iverson is better than Micheal Jordan). Music is everything to me, I create everyday, one of these best feelings is seeing other people listen to my music. Performing at shows be feeling like a dream, it’s only going to get better.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
All ima say is, you can play me anywhere and I guarantee I moshpit will start. When I go in the booth a different side of me comes out, I don’t let everybody see it either. I had to learn that the best music happens will you let yourself become vulnerable. I’m the type of guy where I don’t let just anyone get to know me, I’m big on moving in silence. I had to change that when it came to music though, I had to open up, now my music be knocking! At first, no one liked my music. People would laugh, tell jokes, it was super frustrating. I almost wanted to quit but I realized God never promised an easy life. Once I realized that I started to hop in my bag, all I had was tunnel vision. I’m all about being yourself, that’s what all my music screams. Just do you and forget what anyone thinks.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a vegan so we definitely going to Sunshine vegan cafe and Soulfood vegan! Black owned and delicious! But I don’t really do to much, I love to shop though. Westheimer definitely the spot, Petty Cash, Leopard Lounge, and Lo-Fi are my favorite spots.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom is like Superwoman to me. We had our differences in the past but she always had my back, no matter what. I love her to death. I gotta shoutout my step pops, he the reason why I’m the man I am today. That’s my guy, no cap. Loose Screw Mafia though, that’s my heart. I got it tatted in my skin. If it wasn’t for JIGGAONDABEAT, Prod By Nytemare, and Kaya, I wouldn’t be in the position I am now. That’s really my family. Much respect to the OG uncle B, unc believed in me with this music stuff before anyone did, had no doubts at all:
