We had the good fortune of connecting with Dina Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dina, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Over time, my work-life balance has definitely evolved. My husband and I own a long-haul transportation company, and I also run my own tax preparation business. When we first started, I tried to handle everything at once without much structure — managing office operations, supporting our drivers, helping clients, and still being there for my two kids, Zayra and Gael. It wasn’t easy, and I often felt like I had to be both mom and dad during the week since my husband is usually on the road handling dispatching and driving for our company.

Now, I’ve learned to be more intentional about balance. My days are still busy — from answering early morning calls from drivers or brokers to switching over to my tax business and helping other entrepreneurs start their own companies. But I’ve realized that planning and organization are key. I try to schedule my work around family time and give myself grace when things don’t go perfectly.

I see balance not as a perfect 50/50 split, but as finding harmony between my roles as a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. Some days work takes more of my energy, and other days my kids need me more — and that’s okay. What matters is that I keep showing up with love and determination for both my family and my businesses.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m the proud co-owner of 5th Wheel Logistics, a fleet transportation company, and Ramirez Multi-Tax LLC, a tax preparation and multi-services business. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity, personality, and problem-solving skills. I used to believe that not having a college degree would limit my success, but I was completely wrong. I’ve made choices in life that taught me valuable lessons, and those experiences shaped me into the strong and successful woman I am today.

I’ve always been fascinated by supply chain and logistics. I attended some college, but due to personal circumstances, I wasn’t able to finish. Instead, I completed a business management trade school, which turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Early in my career, I worked for a manufacturing company in Oxnard, California, in an office alongside supply chain managers. Watching them manage logistics with confidence — dressed in suits and driving nice cars — inspired me deeply. I used to tell myself, “One day, I’ll be successful too.”

Years later, I met my husband, whose knowledge and experience in trucking combined perfectly with my business and logistics background. Together, we built 5th Wheel Logistics from the ground up. It wasn’t easy — we faced countless challenges and setbacks — but we never gave up. It took us a good 10 years of hard work, sacrifice, and faith to turn our dream into a thriving company. Entrepreneurship is not easy; it takes consistency, resilience, and the right people by your side. When I look back now, I feel so proud of how far we’ve come.

About three years ago, I launched Ramirez Multi-Tax LLC, where I help clients with tax preparation, business formations, ITIN renewals, payroll, and notary services. What makes my business special is the personal attention I give to each client. I take time to guide and educate them, especially first-time business owners and hardworking families in my community. My goal has always been to help others grow and succeed — not just to provide a service, but to make a difference.

If I could share one piece of advice, it would be this: never get discouraged if you didn’t finish school. A degree doesn’t define your success — your mindset, determination, and work ethic do. I may not have a university diploma, but today I’m the CEO of two successful companies, and I’m living proof that you can build your own path. Don’t compare your journey to others; find what works for you and never stop believing in yourself.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that we are built on faith, family, and integrity. Everything I do comes from the heart. My story is about perseverance, self-belief, and the power of turning challenges into opportunities — because if I can do it, anyone can.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I would take them around my hometown of Brenham, Texas, to show them all the charm and growth this place has experienced. Brenham isn’t such a small town anymore — with all the new subdivisions, businesses, and developments, it’s really starting to grow while still keeping that friendly hometown feel.

We’d start by visiting the Blue Bell Creamery Museum to grab some delicious ice cream — it’s a must since it’s right here in town! After that, we’d head to Downtown Brenham to check out the colorful murals, unique shops, and local boutiques that give the town its character.

We’d grab a coffee at Mescalito Coffee — one of my favorite local spots — and then finish the day with dinner at BT Longhorn Saloon, a great place to enjoy good food and that true Texas atmosphere.

Brenham is growing fast, but it still has that welcoming spirit and sense of community that make it such a special place to live and visit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to send a special shoutout to Jesus, who makes everything possible. He has seen me through my happiest days and my toughest moments, always giving me the strength, courage, and faith to keep going.

I also want to recognize my husband, Alfredo Pitones, who has supported every idea and dream I’ve had. Even while working long hours on the road, he continues to encourage me and stand by my side through every business venture.

A huge thank-you to my parents, Pablo and Eclisera, and my brothers, Heriberto and Jubal. They’ve always been there for me in my busy business life — helping with my children, running errands for my businesses or personal needs, and simply showing up whenever I need them. they always come through when it matters most . I truly see them as a blessing in my life, and I’m forever grateful for their love and support. I also want to send a big shoutout to our amazing 5th Wheel Logistics team and to everyone who has ever been part of our work family.
