Meet Dominique M McGee | Survivor Leader/Breakin Khainz Founder/ Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique M McGee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique M, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business is a nonprofit organization named “Breakin Khainz ” we aid survivors of abuse and traumas,at-risk youths and young adults into picking up the pieces to a better life. We know of the many hardships many of us face in our lives and on our road to success. Our organization is an abuse and human trafficking survivor led organization. We are hear to aid in the betterment of those in our communities who need us the most and by doing so we are reaching in and uplifting the very , families,hearts,and homes throughout our communities making room for positive economic impact and growth.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Breakin Khainz we walk alongside of survivor, at-risk youths and young adults in their paths to betterment. We provide support groups,  personal growth and development classes and interactive workshops, educational advancement opportunities, financial literacy classes, peer mentorship programs,along with professional development and career path discovery that leads to job placements and internship opportunities. We love being active in our communities as well doing community outreach and give backs . The most amazing thing is being able to reach right into the very hearts ,homes families and communities that need us the most and make a big personal and economic impact for growth,blessings to the way our community partners that step up to aid in building better futures across our communities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston is so rich with culture that I must say the first stop is food, we’re going from Ramen to Tex-Mex to the best barbecue that one can find ooh we can’t forget Houston has some of the best places for seafood definitely in crawfish season . We definitely have to show them what Houston has to offer so we’ll definitely going to heat up things up with a little pass around the city skydiving, a couple museums and then after that we’re going to go deeper into the amazing culture and art work around the city . And in the right season at the right time Galveston beach will be a hit it’s just an amazing thing to let night fall let’s go out on a night ride when a slingshot maybe or even a night in the best nightclub atmosphere Houston hands down drinks are appropriate for every occasion.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
