We had the good fortune of connecting with Drake Linn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Drake, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Growing up I have always had a creative mind, from legos to intricate pillow forts to drawing sketches. I grew up in Florida by the ocean where my love for photography and video started. I began as a teenager by filming skateboarding, skimboarding and surfing. I traveled the coast to video my friends participating in skimboarding competitions. I have always had a passion for cars and knew I wanted to be a part of the culture once I moved to Houston ten years ago. All of these factors have contributed to my current life of filming cars, motorcycles and doing marketing work for automotive businesses around the area. Though not easy, there is nothing else I would rather be doing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Digital content creation is an ever evolving industry. There’s always someone with newer better technology out there. Learning to use what you’ve got to the fullest potential. Camera and cars are some of the largest financially burdening hobbies to have. I edited on an iPod touch years ago and it taught me to be proficient using unorthodox methods and applications. Anyone can become a filmer. I have seen peoples iPhone footage look better than someone with a $15000 camera, it just takes vision and commitment to keep learning all the tools you have at your disposal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Catalina coffee on Washington street on a Sunday morning. It’s my favorite place.
From 2 million dollar hypercars to someone’s old bmw that they’ve loved and put a lifetime of stories into, you’ll see everything. I’ve met so many friends and acquaintances over the years.
Next probably a whistle stop driving tour of the roads around Houston, from memorial drives sweeping long corners and tunnels to the forest roads of the Sam Houston national forest. Most likely ending with some food at the underground food hall in downtown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Alyssa Munõz

Alyssa has introduced me to so many new connections and has given me life from her events, cruises and has welcomed me into her friend group. She has always believed in me and my progression as a filmmaker also at times by giving me the criticism I don’t want to hear.
