Hi Esmeralda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The decision to start become a business owner wasn’t initially in my plans. I was content with being an employee and had not considered entrepreneurship. At all! However, when faced with challenges, I realized the depth of my knowledge and expertise. It became evident that being an employee didn’t limit my potential as a business owner; if anything, it highlighted my capabilities. This realization motivated me to take the leap and establish Waxing Chemistry. From there, I’ve been driven to build a business that not only showcases my skills but also provides clients with exceptional service and experiences.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is deeply rooted in my passion for providing exceptional service and personalized experiences to my clients. What sets me apart is my commitment to innovation and attention to detail. I take pride in offering unique treatments, such as brazilian waxing and vajacials, that surprise and exceed the expectations of my clients, leaving them feeling confident.

My journey to where I am today has been filled with challenges, but each obstacle has been an opportunity for growth. It hasn’t been easy, but through perseverance and determination, I’ve overcome setbacks and emerged stronger. Surrounding myself with a supportive network of mentors, friends, and family has been instrumental in navigating these challenges and staying focused on my goals.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way have been invaluable. I’ve learned the importance of resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning. Every experience has shaped me professionally and personally, and I’m grateful for the growth it has brought.

Ultimately, I want the world to know that my brand is more than just a business; it’s a reflection of my dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence. I’m excited to continue pushing boundaries, making a positive impact, and delivering exceptional experiences to my clients.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston is just incredible! There’s an abundance of things to see and do here! We’ll start our day with a stroll along the trails of Memorial Park or Buffalo Bayou. Then comes the tough decision between treating ourselves to the amazing brunch at Cielito Cafe or diving into some mouthwatering Mexican dishes at Cuchara. After that, we’ll head over to the beautiful Cypress Boardwalk for more tasty treats and stunning views. And to end our day on the perfect note, we’ll catch an unforgettable concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate a heartfelt shoutout to several individuals who have played pivotal roles in my journey. Firstly, my clients, who have not only supported my business but have also become friends, offering words of encouragement and motivation during challenging times. I’m also immensely grateful to my mom and my aunt, whose constant support and belief in me kept me going when I felt like giving up. And last, but certainly not least, my kids, who serve as my ultimate source of inspiration and drive, constantly reminding me of the importance of striving for more.
